i feel zero emotional attachment to it, i mostly feel indifference. disappointment was zeitgeist, american gothic, teargarden, oceania. it's all used up by the time monuments came out. i will say that when i was doing a quick workout i wanted something mindless to listen to and i decided to give monuments a try and it did a serviceable job for mindless workout background music

Run2Me makes sense when you realize Billy was just giving the kids today what they wanted.

Well, he was giving the kids what HE thought they wanted but it turned out that wasn't true either.

I quite like it. The most listenable of the post 2000 Pumpkins releases.

Run 2 Me could be quite bewildering while crushing the treadmill. I'm trying Billy boy but I'm just not getting anywhere!

If someone told me 15 years ago that Bill would collaborate with Tommy Lee on an album I would have wet myself at the immesurable amount of anticipation and excitement pumping through my veins. But alas, no dice.

I honestly had this exact same thought after hearing "Higher" on the same record

But I'll accept "Desperado" as a valid metric too

I honestly haven't listened to it since the first time. It so disinterested me that I haven't even tried listening to any of the live shows they've done since then (apart from the Iha one).

I still remember listening to a national rock radio station as they played 'Being Beige' for the first time in the country and the DJ, having hyped up the "new Pumpkins song" beforehand without listening to it first, came back on air after the song had ended and so clearly wanted to say "WTF was that?!"

I thought I'd forgotten some songs on it but apparently not. It's nice and lean. Don't take it too seriously.

Worst tour too. I walked out of the Vegas show after 6 songs. Horrendous band. Bollz guitar sounded great. That was it.
Saw them again with Jimmy that summer. He was the only worthwhile part of that show and band. Even then the songs were too slow and muddy. After 1979 a loooootttt of people left during run 2 me.
