The Marty Funkhouser/ Super Dave Osborne appreciation thread

I've been binge watching Curb Your Enthusiasm lately and I absolutely love Marty Funkhouser. Funniest character on the show. That guys voice is one of a kind

I'm surprised he hasn't had a career in cartoon voice overs or anything.

One thing that I wasn't sure if people realized or not is that that actor actually starred in the Super Dave Osborne show which was a big hit in the 80's. It was kind of a variety show based on a stunt-man (Super Dave) and each episode would end in Super Dave doing a stunt. In the late 90's they brought the show back on YTV in Canada for a year or 2.

Come to think of it: did you yankees have Super Dave out there? It may have just been a Canadian hit. (yes I could wikipedia it, but it would take away from the organic spontaneity of the thread.

The actor does a funnier high-pitched thing with his voice as the Marty Funkhouser character than he does as Super Dave though.

I wish I was older to have actually lived through the 80's as a teenager or something.

idk man there were some good episodes. Overall pretty meh but whenever a black person showed up such as Wanda Sykes or the Black family it got pretty entertaining

I think he was talking about the Super Dave Osborne show, not Curb. Everyone (with two brain cells and a sense of humor) loves Curb.

Curbs epic! Larry Davids a comedic genius.

That's why it's so obvious that there was a huge drop-off in quality during the last 2 seasons of Seinfeld- It was cause Larry David left.
