There was a girl coming out of Walmart today wearing an Unknown Pleasures shirt. I looked at her and wanted to give her an affirmative nod but she ignored me.

Been really getting into this lately:
I generally don't like electronic stuff, but listening to this paired with grainy Simpsons VHS montages really turned me on to it. Plus the samples of random old 50s songs are fucking ace |

this track is so bubbling and busting with crazy ideas to make the music fun and cheeky, and it does so in such an inventive and brilliant way with endless musical twists and turns, it's like juggling. the prospect of coming up with a track like that and executing it is just pure vision. i think this song really shows how brilliant freddie was as a songwriter, even no less than bohemian rhapsody. the fucking groove on this song! damn. you can only get it right if you're dancing. freddie is one of those musicians whose sense of timing i respect the most ever in music (yes i know that is an odd title, but i'm really obsessed with rhythm). the way he got those polished marble BLOCK harmonies that gelled together so beautifully - just a perfect marriage of pitch and tempo. he was basically the perfect musician as far as vocals go. i guess you can only get the timing on everything so perfect when you're a confident 100% badass not apologizing for who you are. |

having a deep kinda night with queen
they really do deserve every bit of fame they got. they had real, raw, undeniable talent. four distinctly great musical voices. the bohemian rhapsody documentary on youtube is a good watch. all 3 parts. |

I was just drunkenly raving about Queen to someone last week. Truly amazing talent, and one of the most individual, singular rock bands. No one can replicate the Queen sound without being copycat shit, so very few bands even try, and that can't be said of a lot of their contemporaries. Zeppelin and Sabbath are also great for instance, but they spawned entire genres which mimic them.

hindered by sober restlessness submitting to the amber crutch the theme in my aching prose fantasizing the sight of manhattan that pour of a bitter red being that escapes a thin frame the rebirth of mutual love the slipping on gloves to lay tenderly "I'm dying." - "Is it blissful?" "It's like a dream." - "I want to dream." |
