Recently downloaded SSX 3 on my Xbone and have been playing that again. Man, this game still holds up.

I'm pretty sure it's more than just nostalgia, because I've replayed some of my other favourite older games, and they don't hold up as well. For example, the web-swinging in Spider-Man 2 is still amazing, but the missions are repetitive as fuck and the open world is sterile and not interactive enough.

Man, I want another SSX game. Something that just sticks close to the gameplay and aesthetics of Tricky and 3, since I was not too impressed with any of the entries after that. I know that there would probably be some pressure to add in some new gimmicks and change up the gameplay to justify this being a current or next-gen game, but I can't think of a single new feature added in any of the subsequent games that I actually liked (the survival shit in the 2012 game, the progression system and new event formats in On Tour… didn't like any of that). I honestly would be happy with something that just plays exactly like Tricky and 3, but with new courses.
