Pretty sure Billy kicked Nicole out because she's a lesbo. We all know how accepting Billy is of queer genders.

Indeed, but some people still have doubts

this needs to be the only fact behind her not being in the band anymore. it needs to be repeated more often.

also, Billy has STDs. lots of them.

I don't know about credit, but money wise, Thom was wise enough at a young age to sign a deal that included equal pay credit to all band members for songs by Radiohead. No line up changes in what, 25 years now?

It creates a different foundation. Rush has a similar situation.

i'm not knowledgeable on pre-OK computer radiohead but i was under the impression it was more of a "band" with pablo honey and the bends.. then it later evolved to the thom yorke show

Let's be real, Jonny Greenwood's an incredible musician and is probably responsible for more than we'd know. Thom's recent solo stuff is a snooze fest

Green Day equally shares all of their writing credits and they've had the same core lineup for nearly 25 years.

That really is the only way to go in a band. A one for all and all for one kind of mindset.

Same with the RHCP, I believe.

If SP split credits equally, I'd imagine James would have expected more of his work to appear on albums. Billy would have had a shit fit.

Imagine if Adore was a double album like Speakerboxxx/The Love Below...except it was Adore/Let it Come Down. That would have actually been pretty cool. SP with James at the helm! Snaketrain lives!

Based on the fits Billy has thrown about people associating "Soma" and "Mayoniase" with James, I'd be surprised if it was even a 50/50 split for those particular songs.

Soma (Corgan/Iha/Wretzky/Chamberlin)

*Billy's head explodes*

i remember 'Why am I so tired' being credited to all four... (so it probably was improvised from the start)
are there any other songs like that ?

On the liner notes for the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness reissue, I believe it credits all four members for "Pastichio Medley" and the same for "Special Winner's Song" on The Aeroplane Flies High.

Better earlier example is U2. Formed in 1976. forty years next year. Same four guys. Equal credit, equal share of the money. No problems (despite Bono clearly having an ego ten times the size as the other guys)

It's too bad for us though because otherwise we might have been lucky and they might have broken up 20 years ago.

I am of the opinion the minute you add a note or beat or noise that wasn't there you should get a credit.

Like it's completely bullshit Jimmy didn't get credited on early records. Yeah cause billy came up with those drum parts.... but hey it's drums, just noise right?

yeah there are a thousand ways to rearrange a song, but that doesn't change who wrote it

i know corgan felt the oceania lineup was too spacey and not hard-hitting enough for where he wanted to go. he told me so.

i can get why replacing mike with tommy lee and brad wilk makes sense, in that light. mike is a prog monster but wasn't much of a stomper.

that said, i am completely bewildered why nicole was fired. she was versatile, wrote really interesting parts, could sing well and play, and had great presence.

and why did Ginger permanently leave the picture?

Really befuddled why he'd get a temporary male replacement instead of continuing with either of them.

Ginger had a baby in 2009. Her priorities were on side projects and not SP

Eric Avery rehearsed with the band in 2006. Mark Tulin played with them in 2010.
