Default Do you even care about the Metro DVD anymore?

It's 2020. It wasn't the original line-up, it wasn't even the last show. Do you still want to watch the Metro DVD, or would you prefer a higher quality video from the Machina tour?

[either way it's never coming out]

We could have both (and more) if the Lucky 13 thing was actually seen through and sensibly managed.

Laserdisc or nothing. I *might* settle for Betamax.

I feel totally indifferent. Everything significant about it has been bastardized and horribly mutated by the tremendous amount of bad music and associated nonsense from Corgan over the last two decades. He was promising the Metro DVD was still coming as recently as 2007/8, which is about when my desire for it died.

Having said that, it would be a great watch and I would probably buy it if it were done well.

If SP had to rerecord all their old records, Taylor Swift style, would you be down?

So in short, you are totally indifferent, but it would be a great watch and you would view. Ok

Yes, it was the end of an era and I'm not allowing any of the insanity that followed to impact how it made me feel.

Nah, can't fathom sitting around for 4 hours of a smashing pumpkins thing anymore.

I am curious about what extra songs we'd get on a machina remaster and what it would sound like though.

I would get it. Seems unlikely they put it out now, though. It would be a little awkward after Billy was so hard on James about the last show and the aftermath. But I guess you never know, maybe he'll surprise me.

For me, the appeal of seeing it is that it’s the final time he visibly played/sang/showed emotion during a show without it looking like he’s just contriving it because the original song had some. It’d be a great bookend to how I like to remember The Smashing Pumpkins, before he Frankensteined them back to life as some zombie incarnation that he claims we can’t understand.

I get goosebumps every time I listen to the last Silverfuck and like 20 minutes in they blaze into the SD era studio riff

It’ll be part of the massive machina set coming out in 2023 and you’ll have to pay $300 to get it

i feel like i would be excited about it, excited for it to arrive, and when i watch it, i'd probably be able to enjoy it at like a 65%-70% level. and i'm not sure i'd ever really end up rewatching it. maybe a particular song once in a long while.

also, i don't have a dvd player, but that's a separate issue

I think it's maybe damnable heresy, but the version of Ode to No One that's on the Greatest Hits DVD doesn't slay me the way it does many others. It's good and all, but it's not something that makes me crave the rest of the footage.

I've never listened to the audio bootlegs of the show thinking that someday, it would be coming out. Never wanted to taint it by listening to what sounded like a bad at best collection of boots.

At this point, I'll come back to a weird eternal truth of continuing to visit here the way that us diehards do. If you peruse this thread and see the relative indifference HERE of all places - then putting out a DVD of "The last Pumpkins show!" onto the racks of Best Buy in 2021 would probably be to say the least, financially questionable.

Think the only way we're getting this is in a Machina box.

Ultimately, of course I'd buy a blu-ray of it if it was stand alone and would buy the Machina box whether it's in there or not - so, yeah, I'm down.

At this point it would be more feasible to have it hosted on a streaming service or something.

The last shows of the four original members at the Arising-Tour would be much more interesting for a release.

What we wanted: simple footage of a legendary concert to finally see the light of day after more than a decade

What we got: Siddhartha 5xLP box set packaged with a fucking baseball cap

Yep. A baseball cap.
