I am not from the US so I don't know about Howard stern but I don't like his style.

He tries to get the dirt which is fine if done correctly and I know that is an interviewers job and some people think it might make him interesting but he got uncomfortably personal at some points asking stupid questions about his father and asking him whether he would ever kill himself. I cringed at many points in this interview.

He also insulted James a couple of time for being quiet. He probably would have opened up if the interviewer wasn't so boorish.

No idea if he is popular in the US

Wow. The BWBW performance was.. Garbage. At least the vocals were. Guitars sound good.

Gheeze tell me about it! This man has no fucks left to give with that voice of his. Couldn't even let out the "caaaage!!!" scream at the end? Really enjoying seeing James and Jimmy rock out again, they're literally the only glimmer of hope there is for the tour imo..

Earlier in the interview James told, that HE first reached out again to Billy.
Would have normally expected it otherwise after Billy's many ugly comments about James when the band broke up in 2000.

What was James motivation to forgive him after all these years...?

James is actually a mature and decent person who is capable of acting like an adult.

Actually I believe it was Manson who supposedly encouraged James to have initial talks with Billy.

I think Billy may have mentioned it around the time James hopped on for the first show on the last tour

I don't remember hearing this, and because of my job, I monitor most of what he says in public. Would love a link or something if you could remember!

I think we speculated about it here when Billy and MM were playing together again due to his wife/girlfriend being James' wife twin sister. I don't think there was anything from them to confirm it.

New comment from a tech at the tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1991:
https://www.alternativenation.net/sm...ent-3943914728

John Bishop

D'arcy,
I was a tech on the tour you guys
did with the Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam. Of all of the people,
yourself, James and Chad from the Chili Peppers were the friendliest, most down to earth. Just wanted to say, you don't want any part of this shit show. Sounds like James is already being marginalized.

marginalized, based on his minimalist presence on the Solara recording? I got the impression that was James' choice.
To only drop by in the LA studio, was that not his own choice?

James is a lovely guy. I am shocked how bad billys performance on fallon and stern was.i wont go to any show because they play the same hits i ve already experienced 4 times.

Solara is so cheap and embarrassing. We know that corgan cant sing, but that he is that bad now.....
Honestly james just grinded a bit on his guitar, but that doesnt save solara. They can release 5 versions of it- and still the melodys and the song sucks sucks sucks

He was there but not from when they started working together. I suspect they used the monuments/d4n recordings, only adding jimmys drums and maybe vocals. James probably didn't have the chance to change the structure of that particular song.

half the time you see him he's not even playing.

solara sounds much better than on fallon. bwbw sounds old and tired. he didnt even try to scream. which is fine but i've never seen him do that before

Wow, Billy totally phoned in that Bullet performance. That was pretty brutal.

What do you guys make of the 3 guitars? It doesn't really sound any better to me... Might actually be draining some of the energy.
