Default Billy with Depeche Mode 1998 video

I was browsing the Depeche Mode official site and stumble upon a clip of them with Billy from the KROQ Acoustic Christmas in 1998. Anyone have info regarding any surfaced video footage of this show, especially Billy's set?

Video Source: NTSC VHS tape
Details: In 1998, KROQ FM in Los Angeles succeeded in doing something they had not been able to do for many years. They got Depeche Mode to headline their "Acoustic Christmas" concert.

This show was a shorter version of their "Singles Tour" set. Among the highlights are a stripped down rendition of "Enjoy The Silence", and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins doing guest guitar and vocal work on "Never Let Me Down Again".

The video featured here was recorded "live to tape". All effects, camera changes, and recorded audio was recorded in a raw, "one take" mix. As such, some camera angles, and audio flaws, might pop up from time to time. Because of the nature of soundboard recordings, the crowd is sometimes not audible when you would expect them to be. For such a historic document, we don't think the occasional flaw (or cheezy "video toaster" effect) will distract from the performances.

SPECIAL NOTE: The audio for these clips is taken from a raw, unmixed soundboard feed.

I can tell you that Ben Golomb shot it on Hi8, and its missing "Lover".

Since it says that KROQ's crew shot it, I assume footage of Billy's set was recorded. Did Ben Golomb ever release his video or is it being hoarded?

I just updated splra about it. I know at alot of events (Coachella for instance), the cameras aren't turned on until the headliners. If anyone has a photo of the stage during the BC set, that question could be resolved.

As far as the video, it doesn't circulate, but I don't think its specifically being hoarded.

I actually have the entire show on a cd which I once obtained through a close friend of mine--the songs he played, acoustically (with the exclusion of the DM song) are all amazing, especially the first song , which was short lived, called "don't want to be your lover"

I loved that song "lover". I remember the audience noise making the first half of the song almost unlistenable though. I haven't listened to my copy in ages and maybe there is a better source floating around somewhere now or something.

theres a pre-fm going around. If you had an audience version, I'd actually be interested in getting it. I don't think any audience sources circulate for this show.
