Default Why do you think Tony Curtis' career went downhill after the 1960s?

His peers such as Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Marlon Brando continued to have success in film after the 60s well into the 90s. I'm wondering why Curtis didn't also. Maybe he wasn't as versatile an actor as those other guys so he wasn't able to adopt to the change in culture that occured in the late 60s / early 70s.

Wikipedia says that his first clearly successful film was in 1953 and that his career declined after the early 1960s. So all in all he had about 10 or 11 years as a successful Hollywood actor. That's not really a lot of time at the top at all. Compare that to Brando or Jack Lemmon's years of being a success.
