Are Jimmy Eat World really only playing 20 minutes? I have to imagine it's a 45 minute to an hour set, with Incubus getting an hour and a half. That's usually how it pans out with two "known" bands with similar levels of success on one tour.

Either way, I've only ever seen JEW as a headliner, and both times they played 20+ songs. I accept no less and I refuse to go to the nearest corporate sponsored amphitheater for these types of shows anyways.

I like the option of sitting down at those larger shows, but there's just no fun to be had at them. I'd rather be cranky and sweaty and crammed in with a bunch of other assholes and at least feel like part of the experience.

true, haven't seen them live for 10 years, I ended up in one of these amphitheater shows in the US for another band last year, guess I wiped that from my memory. "Come eat on the lawn, with service, and have background music."

Yeah, might as well just stay at home and watch YouTube footage in that scenario.

Invented just clicked for me. Literally yesterday. I love it.

Totally on board with clarity now too.

I believe that’s how it was. I opted not to go to tinley Park for it. Because gross.

Glad to hear it, especially re: Clarity. That's like a top five, desert island disc for me.

On the flip side, I happen to be listening to Chase This Light at the moment and my feelings remain unchanged. There's nothing wrong with the album, but it just doesn't "pop" like their other stuff does for me.

Gotta Be Somebody's Blues is a mawfucker though.

Is it now time to talk about the plethora of awesome covers they've recorded?

I decided to run chase this light through invented and that’s when it got me.

I love chase this light. Big casino makes me tear up now and I’m not really sure why?

But we don’t have to pick favorites. These seven albums are like my children now. But I am so confused as to why invented just got to me like it did. Only other album I love that took me that long to get is exile in guyville. Thats good company.

Vocal melody on heart is hard to find just fucking KILLS me.

The Tom-fronted stuff isn't my favorite, but there's some really solid stuff on there. Rockstar and Episode IV are the ones that stick out in my mind.

I've only ever seen "The Pumpkins" on the Oceania tour and it's something that always depresses me when I think about it.

Yeah it fucking sucks that I was only 3 when my favorite album came out, and also that at least half of my favorite bands had dead members by the time I was old enough to get into them. That's why I try not to miss a show of anyone I even remotely care about anymore. Fucking devasted I didn't get to see Soundgarden in time Anyway, I'll stop being off topic now, sorry

Yeah, SP were dunzo right around the time I started going to concerts.

I guess at least I can say I saw a lot of prime nu-metal bands in their heyday, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh yeah, I've heard just about every nook and cranny this band has put out.

Their self-titled debut is really...something.

Two new tracks just released:

Both pretty solid. Love Never has a distinct Bleed American-era sound, while Half Heart easily could've fit in on Integrity Blues. No sign of a new album though.

Based on their history they’re not due for a full length til 2019. But they’ve been touring pretty much nonstop so I could see that not happening.

They played sky harbor ahhhhhhhh

Great show. They seem to have such a genuine appreciation for fans. And it was packed! I’d planned to be on the floor but that just wasn’t happening. Got a good balcony seat though.

Even the bleed American singles they close with sound so good still. They also played Polaris which is a personal favorite. And love never was pretty impressive live.

BUT

Now that I’m in my invented stage I wish they’d thrown a bone of some sort. But not my best theory. It seems like they don’t plan on revisiting that at all, or any of damage outside of I will steal you back, and chase this light outside of big casino and always be.

But this is like asking for... the imploding voice at a pumpkins show? So I can’t complain too much.

Would love to see the song invented just once before I die though
