I bet you could pick any subject matter and find the world's largest fanboy or girl of it where the person displays an unhealthy obsession toward the subject

well that's different though, because those kind of nerds would probably hate seth rogan and the movie as not being true or whatever

true but it would still be included in their canon of knowledge even if they hate it.

also there would be seth rogan super fans. it really wasn't a statement meant to be nit-picked.

An oceania superfan would be told they are a liar by fuzzyho, because apparently liking that album is impossible since he doesn't.

if only everyone else measured the world with your (objective, complete, unarguably flawless) yardstick, right? we could just shut down the internet; there'd be nothing left to talk about

oh - the point i was trying to get at is that you don't have superfans of pieces of art you have superfans of the people that make those products. I use the phrase pieces of art very loosely.

For instance the worlds biggest/creepiest fan of the song she-bop by cyndi lauper is eclipsed in fandom by the biggest cyndi lauper fan.

the guy whose favorite movie on the entire planet is 2001 still doesn't know jack shit compared to the worlds biggest stanley kubrick fan.

in terms of what you said above, quoted, you would be looking for the worlds biggest jimmy fallon fan or the worlds biggest queen latifah fan. and i'm sure there are members of that specific fan community that love that movie and others that hate it. just trying to draw it together here.

Currently re-reading a spiritual tome that I was first given in high school years: Carlos Castenedas' 'Tales of Power.' Amazing to me that the inherent transformation of our world culture has moved from the positivistic inner search of the 60's-70's to the outward, self-negating trends of today; where the very act of establishing or seeking identity outside the pre-approved 'matrix' is in itself an existential threat.

Quixotic to say the least!
But good fun
I hope Billy hires an editor and uses a dictionary if he plans on ever publishing that book of his.
