Machina Reissue

Machina is like the first album Billy started writing songs that were longer than they needed to be with repetition.

If Flood could just shave about a minute off Sacred and the like, that would be great

All the reissues sound great. MCIS is a clearly noticeable improvement. Pisces was the one that was butchered.

can't even remember what that post said, was it like bringing someone in to actually sing parts of Machina, something like that?

can't see it happening, though, not an actual effort that would take weeks. new album recording right now, then rehearsal for the upcoming gigs, after that it's April, back to the new album... more gigs... seems unlikely?

Manson yelling HMM would be sort of cool. PJ Harvey vocals on GATGC. won't happen, but nice to imagine.

Maybe I'm just too used to the originals, all the reissues just sounded gross to me. Basically all I got out all of them combined was like 5 or 6 bonus tracks

Nah, MCIS still sounds like it was recorded through a layer of mud. The upper-level bass in Thirty-Three and To Forgive is still unacceptably poorly mastered. Not to mention the vinyl was so poorly cut and the book full of typos that Amazon yanked it from their site.

The bonus tracks on most of the reissues are stupid and useless, and the artwork has been pretty shit. The only reissues that were decent were Gish and SD, and that was because the vinyl wasn't brick walled or poorly cut.

That being said, I can't freaking wait for MACHINA.

All I want from the Machina reissue is that they bring the Machina II stuff to a level of quality similar to Machina I, if that's even possible

Oh, and the Metro DVD, I want the full 4 hours warts and all (which i'm sure isn't gonna happen)

It'll be interesting to see how master these...

Personally, I think Machina I sounds too blown-out. After I listened to it a few times, something in me "got it", but I just don't like it. Machina II is really raw, but at least it sounds like instruments played by people.

Considering the two albums sound so different, I don't think there's any way this thing comes out sounding cohesive.
