I thought was working on releasing pre-Gish material? Didn't they say that around the first of the year in regards to what's coming?

maybe so, i recall something was mentioned, but not the specifics. i hope you are right. billy is pretty dismissive of everything from that era. and Gish too, actually. apparently, he couldn't write for shit back then, unlike with Zeit obviously

* Daughter
* C'Mon
* Egg
* Love
* Psychodelic
* Snap
* Stars Fall In
* With You

plus the old drum-machine era SP like the Vigil and some of the acoustic RTS songs.
Looks like we'll just have to listen to the copies we have, and we won't be able to bitch about lack of dynamic range and dry vocals.

I think I'll be getting the 180G vinyl for a change and pirating the rest.

If this was the same price as Siamese/Gish I'd snap it up - but £40!?

For an album I already own, a patchy rarities disc and a tape I won't ever use.

£40!? Madness!

Yeah, the bonus track selection is pretty disappointing but it'd still be worth it for the liner notes and whatnot though.

but we have it on faeomm so it was kinda weird seeing it on PI. I also think some of tafh is from 94-96.

FAEOMM was unofficial, a mix tape Corgan made for (was it a hockey player? I don't remember, but I'm sure it can be looked up). He just randomly picked some old songs to fill up space on the tape. I wouldn't say a mixtape Corgan made in 1999 is indicative of Corgan's intent to "wrap up an era" in 1994 with PI, especially that it was made for one person, not the entire world. It's a bootleg, not an official release.

As for TAFH, the recordings you are thinking of were MCIS demo tapes and soundboard demos contained inside of the Pasticio Medley, which were all ideas for MCIS itself. Marquis, Mouths and Pennies were recorded after MCIS in 1995 at a b-side session; God and Tribute to Johnny were MCIS outtakes from 1995.

My point is there seems to be a dividing line between what Corgan feels is this first era of the Pumpkins (Pre-Gish to SD) and then everything afterwards. PI was the "cleanup" album to get the best of that first era, and wouldn't have anything after that dividing line, sometime in 1994.

Yes he did. And if you look at it, there's still an album's worth of material here from the Ignoffo Sessions (the most releasable of it all):

Egg
C'mon
Daughter
East
Honeyspider (mellow)
Love
Not Worth Asking
Psychedelic
Snap
Stars Fall In
Fat Man Blues
Sun
Stray Cat Blues
I Am One pt 2
Mother

I'm not saying this will come out (I kinda think it won't) but it could still plausibly come out with those remaining tracks. Maybe Corgan alreday has this completed, and we're seeing the remaining tracks NOT on this album here being released on PI, so all the tracks are covered?

There's also Bleed to add to that list which I actually thought would make it to the PI reissue. Anyways FAEOMM is an awesome mixtape, love that live version of X.Y.U. from the Dodger Stadium show in '98.

Did you order the PI reissue? Perhaps you'll get it earlier than the release date?

Same here - and yeah, I ordered the deluxe reissue. Odd email to say the least... already doubting Topspin's ability once again.

Got the same email. I ordered the deluxe reissue as well as the vinyl. Really doesn't make me feel positive about getting it on time if they don't even have it at their facility to ship yet.

I totally agree with that. Including that and French Movie Theme is just non-sensical, or done just to piss people like us off. It just as aggravating as when "Girl Named Sandoz" was put on the Gish bonus disc when this Pisces reissue was already in the works. But instead of songs we already have copies of, it would be awesome if those 3-4 songs would be stuff we've never heard (such as "Crawl" even if that ends up sucking), or stuff that we don't have very good copies of, like "The Vigil".

However, I do agree that "I Fall" would've been great to have.

And I do understand wanting official release of songs we have bootlegged copies of. I was guilty of this myself when hoping that "Translucent" would be part of this re-issue.

I was totally expecting "Bleed" to make the cut. Especially after it was played recently.

Wait... when you say FAEOMM you mean Friends and Enemies of Modern Music, right? Isn't that the same as Machina II?

Nope, a separate release with a similar name.

If you don't already have FAEOMM, get it now. It's a pretty good release.

I have the bootleg CD of it from 2000 or 2001. I should probably upload it in case someone wants something other than the 13 remaster, huh?

We've always known that it was SD-era

The cassette itself was completely unlabeled, leading the final track, 'Cinder Open', to be listed here as '(untitled SD-era instr)' for quite some time, as that was the only clue given to what it was (it was suggested that the song was never given a title).
