Mike Doughty was/is supposedly a huge, abusive jerk and the band wants nothing to do with him. Seems like one of five reunions that is destined never to happen.

I read a couple of interviews where he basically claimed responsibility for all of the songwriting because he, you know, "tricked" the other band members into thinking they were actually contributing, and then erased a bunch of their work in the studio or some shit. Sounds familiar.

He put out an album of him doing new versions of SC songs and it was fucking horrid. Dunno if this was before or after he had a Twitter meltdown and told the band's fans to fuck off and he wasn't that guy anymore.

Pretty sure it was after, which makes it all so much more pathetic.

He came here a few weeks ago with fucking Wheatus as his opening band. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

It'd be kinda cool if the remaining members formed a new version of the band without him as a massive "fuck you"

I found You'd Prefer An Astronaut at a thrift store yesterday, I was so psyched.

It got me to thinking, YPAA is probably considered their best but I think Downward Is Heavenward is better.

The production on Heavenward is definitely better, but song for song, I still prefer An Astronaut.

Really good! I knew I would love it when High Ticket Attractions was stuck in my head after only two listens (local radio station I wake up to plays it frequently).
