A bit of loose plumbing and an arc welder puts you only a hammer away from getting some use out of that thing.

I've been thinking (four real) since we once had a netphorian boob album it would be only fair if we had a netphorian pec album. think about it. bet we have some stellar chests up in this bitch.

whose going first? Poots? Fuzzlord? I'm posting my furry little breasts but only after everyone else does. Save the best for last and all that if you know what I'm saying.

that's all i know. you want to capture a live body and not a stiff figure.
I have to pull the film advance lever after each photo, so it's hard to take a burst of shots and just pick the most natural one. Also, using film makes me more judicious about each exposure, so I try to make sure that the shot will actually be worth it, instead of going for quantity.

This creates a notorious posed smile look. that is my only advice.

I should have phrased that better. My problem isn't about getting the standard poses and smiles to look more genuine, but rather to get photos that are more interesting than the standard "pose and smile" in the first place. I dunno, when I look at interesting human photography (not, like, wedding photos and stuff), it usually looks more like the subject is engaged in an action or feeling something, rather than just looking at the camera and smiling.

I haven't found too much trouble getting genuine smiles. Most strangers I ask for photographs are quite chuffed to have been asked, and want the photos so that they can upload them to their social media and whatnot.

A friend recently lent me a couple of photography books, one on still life, the other on portraits. Maybe there'll be good tips in those.

Last time I was dropping off some rolls at the drug store, I let the guy behind the counter know that I accidentally shot an ISO 400 colour roll at ISO 200, so that it'd be swell if they could pull it in processing so that it wouldn't come out overexposed. He informed me that the machine is totally automated, so they can't really intervene and push or pull film. "Even if it's automated, surely there must be a button to select the film speed," I asked him. He said there isn't even that.

I suppose that the machine can read the DX code the same way that some cameras more advanced than mine can, but not allowing the option of overriding that seems silly. At least it didn't seem to cause any issues... I can't even tell which roll was the one I overexposed. I've read that colour-negative film has a hire tolerance for over-/underexposure than, say, black & white or slide. And then, I rely on the automatic settings as the camera hasn't even got a light meter, so since there is no spot-metering function, it's perfectly possible that going a stop over or under is actually better than what my camera picks in certain situations (I really have to be more cognizant of when my camera is probably exposing for the bright background, underexposing my subjects... it never occurs to me when I'm actually shooting, and I've gotten back a few photos with facial features slightly obscured by shadow).

I have also never changed partially exposed rolls without fucking up. Either I don't wind them enough and end up exposing my film, or I wind it all the way in and can't reuse it.

I don't have a film picker, so last time I was at the developer, I asked them to pick it for me. Finally, I could complete a partially exposed roll!

Except when I was trying to rewind it into the cartridge, the film tore and didn't actually go in. It just stuck into the take-up spool. So I exposed it when I opened the camera.

God must want me to waste film.

I bought a cheap film-picker and using it is pretty much the worst experience ever outside of connecting USB devices in the dark.

Don't attempt to save money on that one.
