That's what we needed, more "Smashing Pumpkins" output.

He could be selling the Chicago songs as "SP"
(and as "new")

And then there are the 10 or so demos the 2013 line-up recorded in Chicago before the Euro tour last spring
And the 20 - or 40 - Oceania outtakes

I mean he won't start writing 30 new tracks for 2015 now

Two New Smashing Pumpkins Albums Set for 2015
March 25, 2014
Pleased to announce that I’ve just inked a new record deal with BMG that will see the release of two Smashing Pumpkins albums in 2015; titled successively: ‘Monuments To An Elegy’ and ‘Day For Night.’ For those interested in sound, think: ‘guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars;’ but more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic. Recording sessions begin today, as plenty of songs have been written and ready to go. Manning the boards will be producer Howard Willing, with whom I first had the pleasure of working with during the ‘Adore’ sessions. We expect a single out by year’s end.

Additionally, this stands as the initial post on a new nexus: The Panopticon, which through its simplicity should better address the speed of modern life. A continuing feature, items regarding each day’s recording will be shared that same evening, with song titles, lyrics, poetic impressions, pictures, sound clips, studio gear and the like offered for a circuitous, bird’s eye view of the process as it unfolds. I would also like to add that I am a raging cunt.

-W.P.C. 3/25/14

He said he's been writing a lot. 14 songs in the last 18 days as of Saturday. I think he probably has all the songs written already.

and this is part of the post...

"Recording sessions begin today, as plenty of songs have been written and ready to go. "

So, I doubt he's recycling or reworking past stuff.

Ahaha, you really believe anything he says, don't you.
Only point I agree on is that most of the tracks are already existing in some form. Since he wouldn't get a contract otherwise. Not at this point in his career.

2 albums in 2015... it's like it's his 44 Teargarden promise all over again. Except now, instead of getting to just bail on it when he inevitably realizes he's in over his head again, he'll be legally obligated via contract to put something out. Translation: a project even shittier than Teargarden.

Sweet Lord.

This was always going to be a more realistic announcement than Jimmy being back.

Prediction:
December - Big news to be announced soon!
January - I am excited to tell you that "Monuments to an Elegy" is nearing completion and a release date will be announced very soon!
February - nothing
March - "Monuments to an Elegy" will be released some time in late April
April - nothing
May - Album released
