After asking this girl out, we still had a bit to walk to our cars. The conversation transitioned to school, and she told me she trusted me more than anyone else in the class to run a good broadcast. Meant a lot, because that's the only class I've been giving a shit about lately

In front of the YMCA this relatively youngish babe told me"hey I just want to tell you that YOU'RE HARE IS GORGEOUS."

I started grinning like a fool and I haven't stopped.

I was turned down by a lady at a night club, who then said I was very handsome and could probably go home with any girl I wanted in the club.

Once in korea I met a drunk esl teacher. She made out with me for a few moments on an elevator. Then she told me I didn't know how to kiss. Then she said "if I were more drunk you might be actually handsome". All the other teachers laughed. i went home and thought about emigrating to narnia.

true story.

Low retweeted a link to one of my demos, apropos of nothing. I was shaking for like 3 hours after that.

You're the laziest person I've ever met. It's like you're royalty or something.

close second:

I wanna inseminate you

In marching band I was always yelled at for playing lazily. Always took it as a compliment tho cause that's how Jimmy C does it

I dug the one album with the long french title i can never remember. The rest of their stuff I can split 50/50 i reckon. Last time i checked in they were on some straight-up U2 thing but that was a while ago.

EDIT: Actually, now I think about it I did spin Kodama a couple times last year and it felt like a return to form. Production was great.

You have such great kindness and patience, I was told. A very good friend and mother. Aww

Another good one was that I turn everything philosophical and "hippy-dippy." I don't think that was meant as a compliment but I felt proud of it.

a few years back, i had only started to work at this new place, and one day i headed out to group lunch with a few managers and colleagues. we went to some joint, and everybody was placing their orders - they were all regulars there, as it was about a 5 minute walk from the office, and had good rapport with the guys there.

so i'm interacting with the guy at the counter, placing my order. i can't remember what i said, but it was nothing of significance. then he turned his head over to my boss, who was standing to my right, and said, "he's got a good vibe to him, the new one, eh?"

it's hard to translate but he meant like, it feels like i've a good heart, or like it's very calming to interact with me or something to that effect. might be silly but i thought it was a big compliment from somebody who just met me, and it's still something i remember. it's kinda like the quality that makes animals come to you - i very much like the idea of having that.

I've had a similar experience and really, it makes you feel great even if you kinda wonder if its based on virtually nothing.

One time a customer at a restaurant I cooked at said the burger (or steak? I can't remember) I had made for him was "The best he had ever had in his life" and my kneejerk response was "bullshiiiiit."
