Default The Killers - Run For Cover

It sounds like they went back to their roots on this one. Gives me hope for the album. Has a great Sam's Town / Hot Fuss vibe.

Agreed. I don't dislike "The Man", but it's a bit too novelty-ish for me when the rubber meets the road. Stoked for this record.

That said: insanely stupid breakdown of the presale items on their site. Why can I only get that Morrissey-esque shirt when I preorder the digital download?! What is on disc two of the CD? And on the deluxe version of the vinyl? Tough to pull the trigger on any of that without them giving us tracklists or more bundle options.

I'm happy for any new post punk sounding stuff. Tired of listening to the same Comsat Angels, U2, Killers, White Lies, Interpol albums over and over again.

Next month.

This year really seems to be the nail in the coffin for rock music. What with all the negative feedback I've heard about the new Queens of the Stone Age album. And everyone seems to be saying the new Coldplay EP is pretty mediocre as well. I don't even think a good Killers album can save rock at this point.

There is a third song / single out "Wonderful Wonderful." Probably one of the darkest things they've done. I think this album is going to be really good.

Also apparently neither the guitar player or bass player is going to be touring with the band anymore which is kind of strange. So it's going to be Brandon and the drummer up there with some hired guns.

Bring it back to the mongoloidal masses, duh.

Why anyone would wish that is beyond my feeble powers of thought.

There's another new song from the album that came out in the last few days "Some Kind Of Love." It's more of a ballad. Has a Tears for Fears vibe to it.

The album is out. It's pretty good. Some post punk like on the title track, Run For cover and Tyson vs. Douglas and also some more radio friendly new wave stuff too. The Calling sounds like Depeche Mode when they were playing blues like on violator and delta machine.
