i guess they've got a month or five left to cancel, so there's no hurry, really. it's actually more fun to cancel when everyone already bought their tickets.
so, are you "going" to any of the shows?

Since these are 3 day festivals, i will pass. I hope for shows in oversized venues like last time. Chances of cancelling these will be higher, so i don't have to make a decision...

Fucking hell, that looks awful. I wonder if rock has brought property in Ohio, or is renting on a short term tenancy basis

Hi guys, I work for Absolute Radio. Just thought I’d let you know what we’re having a pre-sale for UK Smashing Pumpkins tickets, starting at 9am on Thursday 21 January. You can get them from http://absoluteradio.co.uk/tickets
Cheers, Tim L

Can't see them selling out Wembley this time around. They should have just done 2 x Brixton like last tour. Sound in Wembley can be awfully bad but I seem to remember it being pretty good for Machine Head last year. I guess it would cost them more to hire the O2.

The O2 is even bigger; they should play real music venues that they have a chance of filling. Glasgow Academy is a very attractive 2,500-capacity former cinema built in the 1930s; Manchester Academy is a purpose-built 2,300-capacity modern music venue; Wembley Arena was originally a swimming pool, and is basically a 12,500-capacity giant empty hangar that is used for anything from "Strictly Come Dancing" to the "Horse Of The Year Show"; it's not designed for music. Why they chose this enormous anus of a venue over places like Brixton Academy or Hammersmith Apollo I don't know.

Got pre-sale tickets to Manchester and London today (Could no longer afford to go to Glasgow as well).

I'm surprised (well not that surprised, this is Billy after all) at how much the tickets were ... £38 for Manchester and about £45 for the London shows ... I can't see the less hardcore fans paying that in all honesty .. especially in something the size of Wembley Arena ...

yeah, i will be attending the Manchester show, as it's the nearest to where i live. also, the venue seems decent and the price (£38.50 on ticketmaster) not that bad. i am not getting tickets for a couple of weeks though.

Really? That is the same as only 50 to 60 US dollars. I am broke as shit and the economy sucks here in the US and I would still pay that to see my favorite band. Not that much at all. Basically like going to a few movies and getting popcorn.

Well on the US tour they got between 5,000 and 10,000 on each stop. I would imagine it would be more the same with Wembley. The sound is bad in Wembley but it seems a lot of bands keep playing there so there must be something they are doing right.

I was quite shocked at the price of the tickets for the UK gigs, but was too excited about seeing the band again and bought a ticket for Manchester.
