It captures that dark nihilistic vibe that made early Korn so good

Truth be told, they could never quite outdo this performance. It was all downhill from there.

From someone who loved Korn between the ages of 14 and 19, this is just no good. Pure dogshit. I can sometimes revisit those old albums (mostly the first four, it gets soggy after that) but this is just embarrassing for all parties involved.

Also, Jonathan Davis is a truther who believes Obama is a lizard man. And he wears Monster Energy Drink gear. And is over 40. And rich. And has children. And still writes songs about how hard his life is and how tortured he is. Fuck that guy so hard.

Probably. But that goes with most aggressive hard-rock/metal. It's kind of funny though that the guy who wrote songs lashing out at bullies who attacked him for his "gay" demeanor turned out to be a fucking conservative, and a brain-dead one at that.

Case in point: Rage Against the Machine is Paul Ryan's favorite band.

I mean, come on.

I've been racking my brain, trying to come up with an old Korn song I could post that is worth defending but I am coming up empty. Really, the only attachment I have to this stuff is nostalgia and memories from more than half my life ago.

Issues had some nice...textures...I guess. The only time Fieldy didn't sound like the Seinfeld theme falling down the stairs.

Original drummer is bitter as fuck and throws shade their way at every opportunity. He went from being a Calvin Klein model to a bloated washed-up loser. It's great.

Funny you say that! I just started binge-reading Heads (lead guitarist from KoRn) new book over the last couple of days. I haven't listened to KoRn in awhile unless I'm with a good buddy who LOVES them but Heads book is spectacular.

It's all about the period from when he quit KoRn to when he rejoined. It's an honest truthful tale about how he thought he was gonna do some epic solo project and all this shit and how he fell flat on his face and it's a great read.

FUZZY RECOMMENDED

I read his first book, right around the time I stepped off the Korn train. It detailed the downward spiral that lead to him leaving the band. Tons of juicy dirt about the band's formative and then relevant years (aka the '90s). Twas a good read until the latter half when he was all like "And then Jesus saved me and now I must ramble on about that for the last three chapters."

Pretty sure I never actually finished that book. But I do love a good rock n' roll autobiography that dishes the dirt.

I never really got into Korn. A few songs here and there, but I dont own any albums. I dislike most of "nu metal" in general. But a lot of my friends are hardcore Korn fans and its kind of annoying sometimes lol

DAMNNN I liked Korn as a teen, and I didn't even recognize him.

You can tell he's done mad roids. Roids make your face and head swell up.

It's too bad cause Head rejoined to rave reviews and now Davids the only guy left in the dust. But Korn has Ray Luzzia (not sure how to spell it) in the band now and he's one of JC's buddies so fuck David!

It always feels so contrived when some rock band brings out Noam Chomsky to speak during a concert or something. I mean, I love the guy, but it seems less like "let's give this guy a platform to communicate his views to people who might not otherwise have encountered them," and more like, "people will see how smart and educated and woke we are if we bring out this leftist academic! It'll be a perfect segue into 'Killing in the Name Of'!" Like, it's all just part of their marketing and branding.
