haven't we had bigger massacres in the states? every one is always the worst so they say.

the people who are securely protected and like guns, though (aka the people who make laws), are never affected so they call every act of violence a reason to own guns. even though most killers think they way they do such as dylan roof and that guy who traveled to new york cause he wanted to murder a homeless black person and any one would do.

Actually, gun owners and their family members are the ones most likely to be killed with a legally owned firearm.

Most gun deaths are suicides. Most murders are family members of the shooter.

It's a combination of the importance media and fame have become in america along with the easy access to guns, and probably a small part the glorification of gun violence in movies, music. Conservatives will tell you it's Hollywood's fault, Liberals will say gun control is almost non existent here.

The more people you kill, the more news coverage you get. And then everyone starts looking at your old facebook posts, the FBI searches your computer, finds your manifesto, releases it to the public so cable news networks analyze it for days. Then on the 5 year anniversary, you get a cnn 2 hour special dedicated to you. It's sick, and until the media here stops giving them the kind of wall to wall 24 hour coverage they do here, it is going to continue. I have heard police chiefs say "We aren't going to even say his name," and newscasters agree and say yes, we shouldn't even give him that kind of coverage because it will just encourage it, and literally the next day, they are interviewing anyone they can find who knows the person because the ratings and the internet clicks have gone to the places that do cover it.
