Swiss Army Man had potential that was totally ruined by the continual pointless potty humour

Same here. I even liked Peter Jackson's King Kong warts and all.
This new one seemed a bit one note to me. |

Man, I don't know what you wanted that you didn't get. Kong fucks shit up with other gigantic creatures. That's all I wanted and it's what I got in spades. Really well done CGI for a change, too. I mean, come on. That fucking spider? The squid scene? None of that clicked?
The human characters were admittedly less interesting, which is a crime when you have folks like Sam Jackson and John Goodman on board. But Godzilla '14 suffered the same fate. John C. Reilly definitely seemed like he was enjoying himself though. I'm always glad when movies allow him to actually act. |

Yeah... didn't love the film, but i'm so on board for that cross over. That ending scene was very cool.

Summer of '98, I remember some dude had that blaring out of his SUV. All I could think at the time was "that guy is so cool; I want to be that guy!"

The Road - 5/5
Super bleak and moody. I really loved it, Viggo Mortensen is amazing in it. Many great visual moments too. |

I've been meaning to revisit that one since reading the book.
All I can recall with any semblance of clarity is the toothy edition of Guy Pearce showing up at the end. |

A Simple Plan - 8/10
Nice, low-key character-driven effort by Sam Raimi. Probably one of Bill Paxton's best performances. Constantine - 7/10 Hadn't seen this one since theaters, can't quite put my finger on what motivated me to watch it again. Needless to say, it hit a mindless sweet spot I didn't know needed hitting. Murders in the Rue Morgue (1971) - 6/10 A somewhat sloppy reworking of a well-worn Poe tale. Visually striking and with some enjoyable oddball performances, but didn't quite gel for me entirely. |

Well worn? Have you read it? Or seen countless cinematic adaptions of it?
I demand satisfaction. |

Reminds me of the shitty "the raven" film with Jon Cusack, it's only partly inspired by Poe's works though, no fault of his.

I watched the Sean Penn written/directed movie the Crossing Guard featuring Jack Nicholson last night... My god, what a piece of shit. I've been on a big Nicholson binge lately, but holy shit, that might be the biggest turd I've ever seen.
