Very entertaining review, Davin. Thank you.

The thing that just brought me to this thread, though, is this thought. I just listened to 'United States' twice in an attempt to appreciate it as much as the other new songs - it was the only one that wasn't quite clicking for me. Well it finally clicked and I realized that Jimmy's drums sound more full and powerful on this boot than Kenny plus two others did live in 1998. Jimmy is fucking amazing. This also has me thinking that 'Shame' these days is somewhat like it would have been on the album if Jimmy had been around.

listening to the paris show again, in Disarm at 2:05 at the "oh the years burn, burn, burn" part... i could sware it sounds like billy is singing "oh, the years burn, burn... LE BURN!"

funny, because they are in france. Its probably not what he is saying, but it really sounds like it.

One year has passed, I`m listening to the show and get really sentimental. It was nice having met so many nice people in Paris last year...

I remember sitting in college algebra last year drawing little SP hearts all over my spiral... and then running home to check for boots. And hearing "United States" and being completely blown away. Oh yum.

And I watched that beautiful "thirty-three" vid on youtube from the show... and I got a little teary

Oh good times.

It was grand...I barely made arrangements to go at the very last minute. Good times. A year has gone by pretty damn quick.

I remember Skradgee. He was the guy with the little Zeitgeist flag.

Yeah I remember listening to the cell phone clips. Haha, and hearing the intro to United States was amazing. Totally blew me away. And then there was this youtube vid from a couple rows back of For God and Country. Damn I love that acoustic version.

It really is eerie how fast the last year has gone by. The night of the Paris show, I was seeing Roger Waters perform Dark Side of the Moon, which was pretty sweet. The next day, after failing a Geometry exam miserably, I went home, grimaced as I saw the new Smashing Pumpkins Web site (where did all those great things the Pumpkins Media Militia promise go to?) and started surfing Netphoria for boots. It's kind of odd to read all these old reactions in the excitement of the band's revival, versus the reactions now that we have all listened to Zeitgeist.

Particularly funny is how we all failed to think about the fact that Billy would probably fuck up United States in the studio.
