disagree completely. strawberry jam was not bad, but it's the worst animal collective album

So I finally listened to the album several times, although I've heard most of the songs already. Summertime Clothes sounded a bit better live, maybe it's just the warbly vocals. The album is the most dancey / feel good thing they've done, possibly their most accessible but it's hard to say, the percussion on many of the songs is way simpler than usual. I'm sure the production could be overdone to some people, but I think they avoided getting too messy, the Avey / Noah vocal combinations were pretty much always excellent.
Still I'd definitely put this above Strawberry Jam already, gotta be my second favorite album of theirs. All the songs have such awesome changes and progressions, Bluish in particular. That and Taste are my favorite songs at this point, Taste particularly because of the more Panda Beary lyrics, I love those refreshingly simple truths and ponderings, and it's difficult to deliver a somewhat positive message without coming across as corny. I guess I have to agree that Lion in a Coma is the weakest track, but it's the only track that isn't thoroughly amazing, about half the album is among AC's best work. |

#1 has always been the song that kept strawberry jam from being perfect for me and i originally thought daily routine was that song on mpp but ive grown to like it. the second half transitions great into bluish. its a good reminder of their experimentalism
