No. I don't think it's a great situation for children to have two parents of the same gender.

...but my opinion on this could probably be easily changed.

I think having two mothers is far better than having one!
I know for sure that after my dad left things would have been easier on everybody if Mum (mom) had had more support even if it was from another Woman

...but some fathers are actually good. I think a good father and a good mother is much better than two good mothers or whatever.

And just think about it...do you think kids these days would just let that situation slide? The child would be ridiculed so much...I don't even want to think about it. And also, you'd be the kid's biological father, but you wouldn't really be one of their parents...you know what I'm saying?

I'm glad it could be easily changed as it's a rather stupid opinion.

Yeah of course.
I just think a lesbian couple could raise some pretty amazing children.
It would almost be perfect if school kids weren't so nasty. By the way i plan on home schooling my children but thats another thread.

I'm not a fan of home schooling either...but anyway...

I'm sure two women could raise great kids...but I think it's important (but not necessarily necessary) to have strong feminie and masculine influences.

Maybe so, but a couple of narrow-minded future schoolmates shouldn't deter a couple from having a child if that's what they really want. Tolerance and acceptance isn't going to come by sitting around on your ass.

a couple? I can't imagine how awful things would be for me if I had same-sex parents.

Maybe kids would eentually accept it...but I really don't see that happening.

Maybe the people I'm surrounded by are just abnormally intolerant.

Also, it's not about what the parents want. It's all about the child.

Oh, and I never said it would be a horrible thing to have two women raise a child. I just think it's better to have one good mother and one good father.

i know it's just me but i don't believe that exists

and i turned out okay (cough) even though my dad wasn't always around
and honestly i think i'm a stronger person for having to go though the whole divorse thing at the age of 9, having my heart broken etc etc etc

but then my Dad is a good father he just wasn't such a great husband

Certainly you don't want to put a kid into a hostile situation, but harassment at school isn't the worst thing that could happen to someone. It would probably even change some minds, though that's not to advocate having kids in an attempt to change mainstream opinion.

You can't really control the environment, because that kind of ignorance toward homosexual couples is probably going to be everywhere, but you can at least fulfill your obligation to provide a safe and loving home for the kid.
