Lol well that settles it then! You guys are either really young or just extremely petty Jesus Christ! The point of any argument is not to "win" but to find progress towards an answer or a solution right?

Wink

The solution would have been, to give the first US reissue pressing an AUDIOPHILE PRESSING sticker as a warning flag later.
To avoid people buying this record, who own a turntable with trackability limitations...

Nah, for example, I have plenty of MoFi records and don’t run into this issue.

same.

this whole argument about the pressing being of too high a quality for most turntables sounds like it came straight from the mouth of BC, himself.

So when was the last time you aligned your cart and how did you do it?

You shouldn't have to align your cart or your chakras or anything else. If my record player plays every other record I've ever tried on it perfectly - and this is a lot of records we're talking about here from majors to local bands and flexi discs and shit - I'm not getting my record player blessed by shaman durek just to play this one record fucking hell.

When I bought my table two months ago. Used a Project Align-It.

Didn’t work on my prior table either, which I downloaded a protractor from.

The reality is that if you have to have a special tracking cartridge to get past the IGD, it’s fucking defective.

Cool

I'm so glad I'm having a 12 inch tonearm and a cartridge with a very small needle tip for the smaller, curvier grooves...

It’s not defective. It’s just “loud at any volume.”

Linn stopped manufacturing expensive CD-players already nine years ago, as their digital stream players became superior.

Finally vinyl will survive the CD, as a cult object for sentimental music lovers...

Vinyl was better sounding than digital in the eighties.

Nowadays a good turntable only makes sense,
if you have a collection of rare vinyls,
not available in digital formats.

not true at all. vinyl just sounds different

my friend has a hi-fi setup and we frequently compare vinyl with lossless audio version of the same recordings. just an entirely different sound, possibly better or worse based on your preferences

The bitter truth: vinyl is mostly just adding sounds.

That is what makes an entirely different sound nowadays.

Not all vinyls are made equal
Vinyl masters aren't the same as CD masters.
Not all playback systems are made equal.
A good needle drop lossless recording will sound just like the vinyl.

Not all have the necessary highly diagnostic audio equipment.
Not all have good enough ears.
Not all have even the size to argue.

That name sounded so familiar, and then I remembered. He did a collaboration with Jimmy back in 2011. Pinda & Prana.
