Default I have stumbled upon a real-life time paradox

So lately at work we've been watching Legends of the Hidden Temple, a children's' game show which aired on Nickelodeon from 1993-1995.

Behold, episode 3, season 1, 1993 (as stated by the copyright at the end of the episode):

Note the riveting consolation prize @ 7:25 - a video cassette of Rick Moranis' last film, "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves!"

http://500daysasunder.files.wordpres...ng?w=510&h=370

...but this film was not released until 1997! According to Wikipedia, the film was originally slated for a 1996 theater release, but was relegated to videotape-only status. Assuming the film was finished 2 years early, this is still one year prior to the airing of the above episode of Legends of the Hidden Temple. Am I dreaming? Is this real life?

This is proof of the quantum deception by our reptilian overlords. Either that or we need to consult the oracle and find Keanu Reeves

I laughed as soon as I saw the consolation prize. Couldn't even bring myself to read the rest until like a minute later

Yeah they never had reruns of old game shows on Nickelodeon four years after they originally aired.

Ever notice fucking NOBODY could figure out that damn temple? And if you did, the stupid bullshit trees fucked you? I remember one episode where one group fucking rocked it. But that was it.

A lot of it was chance. They could put the item they had to get in one of the first rooms or in one way back on the top floor. Really wasn't fair. Plus the temple guards.

oh,

Legends of the Hidden Temple was re-run for several years. Each time her episode aired, she said, a different grand prize was featured than the one that was actually at stake. One was a trip to Universal Studios -- which is where the show was being filmed in the first place.

The actual grand prize, which she wasn't made aware of until the episode aired, was a trip to Busch Gardens. I asked her whether it hurt to fall just short.

"Have you ever been to Busch Gardens? It's a shitshow."

If your team got both pendants of life and you weren't cognitively deficient, that temple should have been cake.

Kids always fuckin' up the shrine of the silver monkey. I remember screaming at my tv set as a kid.

did no one address the fact that this isn't a time paradox, it's a recording of a rebroadcasted television program?

notice how the cut to the prizes is not on set so they can just slide whatever plug they need for the year it gets rebroadcasted, kids probably got an ice cream cone and the chance to be on tv for free

Guts, nick arcade, legends of the hidden temple. Really good memories watching those after coming in from playing neighborhood baseball/football and getting ice cream and candy from corner store.

Ahhhh, suburbia.

i can understand fucking it up in the first season, because no one knew how everything worked yet. after that, if you'd ever seen the show it should have been easy.
