Some funny comments on Blabbermouth:

Michael M Arana
Pretty predictable honestly.I was expecting a turd of a heavy metal song following Ogilala. Corgan is predictable. But even heavy metal songs are better than this.I guess I am a dumb hipster according to Corgan.Darcy shouldnt be too broken up about the cash grab "reunion" tour after hearing this.In fact she's probably smoking some hash in her barn right now laughing her a** off with Kerry Brown.Maybe Ted Nugent can take up bass duties and Alex Jones can pick up backing vocals.Bad just bad.Zeitgeist part 2.I think what's more embarassing is how pretentious he is in interviews and seems to be the holier than thou all knowing music savior and then he churns out this. It's been 13 or 14 years of this.Rick Rubin is overrated. So many better releases from better songwriters of all genres from rock, folk, jazz, hip hop, singer songwriters and indie this year.

Jaymiroquai Sanchez
I don't know how Billy Corgan did it... but his voice managed to get worse and even more annoying than it was.

Sounds like a cross between the Cars and Nirvana. Take cd single, follow a garbage truck, at next red light jump out and throw cd in back of garbage truck, drive back home, put on Rust In Peace. Job completed.

Bald ass stupid greedy fuck. I hate that greed shit. Same as Gene Simmons does with Ace. Ozzy does to Bill Ward...

I'm actually surprised by how many people seem to love it online. If you read reviews and random comments on sites, most people cant' get enough of it.

I'm actually surprised how many people are asslickers in the comment section on the Pumpkins YouTube channel, while most people hate this song.

Or are there other manipulations going on as you already can't give the song a like/dislike...?

Most likely those are bots that the Pumpkins' team paid for to post comments.

I really think Zeigeist is essentially the high-bar for what the band will achieve again. I'm okay with that. I mean all of these bands from the 90's suck compared to what they used to write. I don't understand why artists just "lose it", but it is what it is.
When you're living in a basement, nobody knows who you are or gives a damn about you and you don't have a penny to your name you are going to search for everything in the deep recesses of your heart, mind and soul to write good music and prove yourself.

When you're 50 years old living in a mansion, with an established back catalogue and multiple awards, that fire to strive for greatness turns off. Happens with all artists. Making Siamese dream nearly killed Billy. The work he put into that was astronomical. He doesn't have the energy or motivation for that anymore.

That being said I enjoy the new song. But it doesn't match up to their old stuff so fans are naturally going to be disappointed.

Hasn't Corgan been failing for long enough that he should be depressed enough to make good music again?

What do I have to do, kill his dog?

Jeff's heartful sad Sad Machines asskissing (on behalf of Corgan?) -for real- seen on Twitter:

Why did he post the "Best wishes" in purple? Looks somehow cheesy gay, Jeff!

I wonder would the reaction been different had the video come out first? Perhaps some of the imagery would've put the track into context - there might be some cool things to come from that.

It used to be that way - you'd get the video on MTV first, and have to wait for the single / CD. Was a better method I reckon.

But look, bottom line is, anyone who was seriously expecting a return to the fuzzed up SD sound, with delicate guitar interplay like on Hummer or Soma or Mayonnaise, with Billy singing in a breathy feminine style, is just stooopid. That was never gonna happen, especially with Rick "I'll be on the couch" Rubin involved.

That music was of it's time, and while that dream pop / shoegaze thing is back in the current era, Billy has gone too far down the straight rock route to return to that style.

Guys, it's the first song we can hear about 18 years from the original pumpkins. It's not incredible but I like the energy and I like the fact it's not romantic shit. Just rock.

We all know, B0lly can write good songs, Ogilala have some really great. You should wait for the 7 other before get down your sun. I think the band miss a woman voice to help B0lly in the chorus. I'm supprised that he didn't take a girl for the bass guitar.

yea, it's the first track we can hear "the original" Bully and JC on.... since they played Run 2 Me live in 2015.

I’d be curious to see the actual sales and streaming numbers in a week from now, how many people really paid a single cent for this track. Comments, be it on youtube or reddit or here, mean nothing really.

He did it again with MCIS, and I'd say he wooed even harder on it. Abs again with Adore. And again with Machina (which actually kinda ruined it). Even MSoTS was more complex than Solara.

I really don't care if it sounds like SD or Zeigesit (I actually like Z), but this song has no soul, it's meaningless, forgettable. It's just a song, and not a good one.

Plus, if you're gonna sing "I'm here to stay, but they are here today" it can't be a 3 star song. It has to be great.

That's actually an excellent point. With technology the way it is nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if these management teams have people with these fake accounts, giving positive feedback for the bands they represent.

unlikely managaement has people or teams doing that directly for them.

what we use at work are simply companies (the likes of Microworker/Crowdworker/clickworker), you post what needs to get done, and they take care of it, they have 100ds of thousands registered accounts, mostly in the Asian parts of the world, but basically everywhere.

what it covers (or what I know it covers since we use it):

- instagram
- youtube
- reddit upvotes
- retweets
- facbeook likes and shares
- imdb star rating
- amazon star rating
- blog posts where you specify the site, that costs a tiny bit more than upvoting on reddit since you need an actual human with a slight command of English in wherever to go to a dedicated say tv forum and write "yay, this season is so great" blabla.

so the accounts aren't bots or fake in that sense, it's simply people who collect 1 point to click on "like" and upvote with their registered accounts, and 100 points gets them USD 1.

if you need "real" youtube play counts, for example, that won't trigger unless the video is played to the end to 75% or whatever percent. so people let that run with 12 other tabs open, do the upvotes, likes, retweets etc. while that plays, and down the line I don't know what they make an hour for firms like microworker, can't be much more than USD 2 tops.
