so the penguins penalty kill is fucking nasty again

fleury doesn't look that awesome in these first few games. and that sucks because i took him as my second goalie in fantasy. and my first goalie (vokoun) laid an egg in his first game too. i also have backstrom but how good can he be?

....but then again fleury looked about 100x worse at the start of last year so maybe he'll turn it around again.

Wings definitely look infused with youth. Ian White is a more than capable replacement for Rafalski (its shocking how obviously worn out Rafalski was when comparing our D in the preseason + 2 first games vs last year). And I love Mursak and Emmerton, the latter of which looks more like a Top 6 guy instead of the grinder he was advertised at. Also, I'm loving Brunnstrom who I was pissed the Wings missed out on years ago when he signed with Dallas instead when coming into the league. He's still just 26/27 and looks like he's fitting in nicely. Hudler also looks like he's rebounding from his terrible, awful, very bad, no good year.

It feels like a much deeper team than the last two years, and with a little under 6 million in cap space, we can certainly upgrade at the trade deadline.

This has been my Red Wings report. I know you were all waiting with baited breathe.

He's damn good. Just hope he doesn't go all streaky on you like he did last season.

last year he had 1 goal in almost 30 games or so.

this year he has 6 in 8.

i'm not expecting him to keep that up but when crosby and malkin come back he won't have to.

Jagr has been really good. Him and Giroux already have some really nice chemistry going. He hasn't scored a goal yet during the regular season but he was racking them up during the preseason. Great signing.

Haha Corgan is at the bruins game right now, sitting the same row as me across the ice. They started playing 1979 and then all of a sudden he pops up on the tron and he hid in his coat, took me a few to register it so I didn't get a pic, just ones of him in the background of my pther pics but its so tiny you can't really tell it is him.

I wanna say maybe Jeff was with him? He had glasses on.. They dipped out 2 minutes before the 3rd ended, I'm assuming to avoid the chaos.. It was very bizarre after I noticed him... spending 2 periods of a hockey game across the ice from BC was odd, as I suppose it might be for any former/current fan

Really? With as antisocial as the dude is, I'm surprised he didn't throw down on a box... maybe he's broke.

haha I know! It was probably a last minute thing with nothing to do on the day off, they have a concert tonight. I'm more surprised he didn't do double shows like he usually does here. It was funny when they started playing 1979 I was thinking how I had been hearing them all day on the radio and it was weird, then all of a sudden I hear people cheer and I look up on the jumbo tron and there he is, and He really tried to hide in his coat/scarf as if that would help his giant ass.. then I spend the next 3 minutes looking for him around the arena, and he was directly across from me 8 rows from the glass center ice.

that probably wasn't worth my time typing but I really had no idea they were in town so it was very surprising

Looks like Tom Gaglardi is the unofficial official new owner of the Dallas Stars. Just waiting on the courts to move on with the process.

The goal that won Dallas the Stanley Cup was controversial because there was a "player can't be in the crease" rule, and Brett Hull's foot was in it (although apparently it's more complicated than that, I didn't watch hockey at the time)

Pronger's career might be done. He took a stick to the face and his reaction as he hurried to the lockerroom was one of most terrifying I've seen for an injury. Watching with some friends we think he may have lost an eye or seriously fucked it up.

Jagr just scored his first goal of the season though on a break away.
