agree with this.
if it wasn't for tafh the song being on 33, then tonite would be in 3rd spot though.

and the boy is a great song. should have been on the album.

saying it hurts the EP it's on is like saying Go hurts Machina 2, in any case

both are probably his best SP songs

fuck it, while we are doing lists:

bullet - a night like this > said sadly > dreaming > clones > you're all i've got tonight > destination unknown
1979 - set the ray > the boy > ugly > cherry > believe
zero - pastichio medley > marquis in spades > god > mouths of babes > pennies > tribute to johnny
tonite - medelia > tonite reprise > jupiters lament > rotten apples > blank > meladori magpie
33 - tafh > the last song > transformer > the bells > my blue heaven

Bro, I love James. Blew Away, Said Sadly, and Go are top-tier, no doubt. But the rest ...

i get the feeling at some point they realised there were 22 b-sides in total, and wanted to make it 28 to match the mcis album number of tracks, so they decided to record the 6 covers (the 5 on bullet plus my blue heaven) instead of use any other originals that they thought must have not been up to their standard to have released.

Corgan mentions James' cover of "A Night Like This" at 0:50ish in this video from January 1996.
