come on man, bee thousand has been consistently hailed as one of the great 90s records by pitchfork and the like. just look at the insane amount of ratings their mid 90s albums have on rym. i also think they have a pretty large, very devoted fanbase. plus, look at this: http://www.phawker.com/2013/07/03/in...-bob-we-trust/

totally agree about malkmus though.

I can't believe how many albums are still to come this year - Touche Amore, Arcade Fire, NIN, Deltron 3030, Wear Your Wound (Jake Bannon), Chelsea Wolfe...

was agreeing that even cave's best records have a song or two that isn't in the same league. 'god is in the house' from no more shall we part, 'thirsty dog' from let love in, second half of murder ballads, etc...

are you high? lyrically, that's probably the strongest track on the album. unless you actually think he is praising god, or w/e

no, that would be hallelujah or as i sat sadly by her side. god is in the house is witty, but corny. don't care about the religious overtones so much, but it's a snoozer live and on record.

it's also a nick cave song, separately. cave did cover 'tower of song' and 'avalanche' though.
