Default Jimmy and some School of Rock kids

Not sure that these have landed here for mass discussion, but YouTube suggested them to me and they made me smile. Jimmy's the man. Love watching him throttle that little kit of theirs.

Key moment there is at the 1:38 mark when Jimmy starts giving the death stare to that kid on the right then gives him a big ol' grin and the kid feels like a million bucks.

And another:

missed this one. He talks about his kits over time and how he had 50 snares for MCIS and used every one of them.

it's funny in theory (not really) but glad that didn't happen.

he doesn't seem to bring it up or talk about his road to recovery has he? i would be interested to hear his story about his use, getting kicked out of the band, and cleaning up.

obviously he probably doesn't want to talk about it because a dude died while they were slamming junk and that's got to be an incredibly painful experience, but in terms of heroin and 90s rock, jimmy seems to be one of the good guys that crawled out of it. he was never a lead singer or a glamour junkie so his story might be a good one to tell.

idk just thinking out loud. jims a good dude. seems genuine.

I think he talked a bit about it on a Howard Stern interview around Arising/Machina era. I remember Stern mentioning that he was briefed not to talk about the incident but asked about it anyway

He talked in a more general sense about getting clean on this podcast

He never really got completely clean until after Zwan. In various interviews, he has mentioned that he kicked heroin for good in 2002 and went completely sober in 2003 when his first child was born. Billy has hinted, although never directly stated, that Jimmy was still using when he came back to the band, and certainly during the Machina tour. My guess would be he got his shit together enough to not repeat what happened in 1996, but still used hard drugs during that era. I agree though. I would love to hear his stories.

Kind of a dick move mentioning that. Corgan's the one who was doing tons of ecstasy and never leaving the house around the Adore era

It's not Jim's fault Melvoin couldn't keep up
