what pressure. I'll know I'll probably do fine...but this is the big chance for the wife and I to make it back to texas (our family/friends) before having a kid and my wife starting the next phase of her career. it's a rare opportunity. it's a big position in my career field, possibly even slightly above what i'm qualified for, but I know i'd do it well.

it's stressful because the call is at 3pm, so I have to take a weird late lunch (this in the middle of running my crazy department while my boss is away on business, while preparing for a massive community event). i'll be in some mcdonalds parking lot frantically reviewing my materials and prepping myself, waiting for the cell to ring. haven't done one of these things in 5 years.

so yeah,luck. wish me it.

it'll be kinda lame if I don't get it, because i'm fucking over south florida, and fucking over my current job, which I excel at while other people at my work halfass it. I don't mind busting my ass and doing a great job, but it sucks when you're dragged down by other halfasses (plus my boss' boss is an insane bitch, and my boss lets himself be shit on by corporate, and that shit flows downhill to me).

I know how you feel, I had an interview on Monday at 3pm. I still feel giddy because getting the job will be a big progression for me in many parts of my life.

If you've prepared for it, done your research, planned some answers for the common questions, and thought of some things to say that both flatter yourself and ensure that you're suitable for the role, then you'll more than likely do great. Imagine yourself getting the job, like you're perfect for it, it can give you a confidence boost during the interview.

Job is in Fort Worth. I'd probably be in Austin every couple months so I'm sure it would happen

Much luck to you.

South Florida can get grating, especially in ft lauderdale, which has a higher proportion of olds.

i have a job interview question, yo. i went to one last week and it was quick but went well. i sent the interviewer a follow-up email thanking her and blah blah blah and mentioned i would get in touch with her next friday (this friday).

this morning i got an email from a someone else saying someone else from recruitment would be getting in touch with me next week about the next steps. should i still get in touch with the interviewer like i said i would? what would i say now?

Send a hand-written card thanking her again for her time and express you are eager to learn more about the organization and excited about the chance to join their team. Let her know you are available via phone for any follow-up questions if you think it'd help.

Ok it went petty well. 8/10. Sounds like he definitely wants a follow up. The phone disconnected a couple times randomly, but it didn't mess up anything.

Alright step 1 complete. Time to send follow-up email.
