I'm a big Jimmy fan-boy. If the new music is as good as Zeitgeist, I'd be happy.
The only concern would be that GLOW, FOL, Superchrist and American Gothic sucked in the studio. So can the return of Jimmy even help at this point? We'll see. I actually liked Monuments quite a bit, but I hated Oceania and Teargarden, so I'm not really sure what to expect at this point. |

Why wouldn't the entire tour be this? Why have a tour within a tour?

If it isn't D'arcy then that's just the funniest, stupidest, most Billy Corgan fucking thing ever
Also, why Holmdel, NJ? Why Aug 2? Why not do this at a Chicago show? Or MSG for the ticket sales and poeticism? |

http://investors.livenationentertain...-/default.aspx http://s1.q4cdn.com/788591527/files/...onpumpkins.jpg Los Angeles, CA - May 29, 2018 - Due to overwhelming demand for a second New York area show, GRAMMY® Award-winning, acclaimed alternative rock pioneers, The Smashing Pumpkins today announced a special 30th anniversary performance at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on August 2, 2018. Fans can expect special guests, a career-spanning set list, never before seen production, and more surprises from this momentous performance under the stars. Indie rock band Metric will provide support. Tickets for the show will go on sale to the general public starting this Friday June 1, 2018 at 10:00am local time and be available at www.smashingpumpkins.com, LiveNation.com, and via the Live Nation App. Additional special 30th anniversary shows are expected to be announced in the coming months. Citi® is the official presale credit card of the 30th Anniversary Show at PNC Bank Pavilion. As such, Citi® cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Wed, May 30th at 10:00am local time until Thu, May 31st at 10:00pm local time before tickets go on-sale to the public on Fri, June 1st at 10am local time through Citi’s Private Pass® program. For complete presale details visit www.citiprivatepass.com. This July, The Smashing Pumpkins will embark on the Shiny And Oh So Bright North American arena tour. Produced by Live Nation, the tour is the band’s first in nearly 20 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha. Longtime Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder, bassist Jack Bates, and keyboardist Katie Cole will also take part, as the band moves to a three guitar lineup to better emulate the signature tones and textures of their albums. The Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour will kick off in Glendale, AZ on July 12, 2018 and visit arenas throughout the summer. Metric will support them on the tour. Formed in Chicago, IL in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins released their heralded debut album Gish in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993’s 4x multi-platinum Siamese Dream and 1995’s 10x multi-platinum Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. With nine studio albums and over 30 million albums sold to date, the GRAMMY®, MTV VMA, and American Music Award winning band remains an influential force in alternative rock. Overwhelming demand for a second New York area show?
The ticket sale at the Madison Square Garden is still around 80%...: https://www1.ticketmaster.com/the-sm...00544EF52137CD Madison Square Garden, concert capacity: 20000 PNC bank arts center, concert capacity: 17500 Smaller venue, 41 miles away from the MSG. Good luck to find new concert goers this way. And by the anniversary sellout... The Smashing Pumpkins aren't even mentioned at the marquee between "Shania Twain" and "Steely Dan / The Doobie Brothers"... http://www.livenationentertainment.com/concerts Last edited by Corgan's Bluff : 05-29-2018 at 10:56 PM. |

It seems like if they are going to pull random members from any era of the band (Jeff Schroeder, Jack Bates), and they decided to use a keyboard player this time, they could have asked Lisa Harrington, since she was the best keyboard player the band has ever used.

Are you kidding?
Mike Garson was the best. You only had to tell him sometimes not to improvise too much new arrangements... |

Wait so they couldn't fil MSG so they announce a second show in the slightly smaller market 15 minutes south of MSG?
Looks like Bobo was planning on doing the special night two set in NYC all along but they won't let him book MSG a second night. |
