I had thought about going to the Dallas show when it was first announced, but decided I'd rather go to the Tulsa Plainsong show instead (which was excellent FWIW) since I did not see any reason to take off work and travel 4-5 hours twice in the same month.

Looks like there's a reason now, though.

I purchased tickets now solely to see JC and BC together again. Don't care if it was a stunt, as I didn't buy into it w/o Jimmy. If Jimmy were to suddenly not play on this tour now, then we'd have a problem.

Wonder if he played on the album. If not they should redo it.

Slight spike in ticket sales til they're back on Groupon again! Well-played, Bill.

Woah, woah, woah, stop the clock. I was fully prepared to never see this band again and now... darnit! I mean, yay!

Had to happen eventually!

I agree, I would have bought tickets but I have no desire to listen to Marilyn Manson. Nothing against him I just don't listen to that type of music. Total buzzkill they should have just done a couple shows together not the whole tour IMO.

Now I'm going to have to dissect the live recordings so I can skip over essentially half the tour.

Yeah I hope they don't do any duets or any of that shit

Manson doesn't really deserve to be on the same stage as Jimmy

Holy shit! This is fucking awesome! I wasn't expecting Jimmy to do anything with SP anytime soon. I'm actually super excited about this now.

Thank god he kicked the Nickelback douche to the curb ahaha

A few weeks back, Jimmy retweeted the corgan announcement that the basic tracks for the new album were done.

YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THIS FUCKING MEANS, RIGHT?!

As much as I'd love to jump on the hype train, Billy said in a VIP show a few days back that there is no drummer on the album.

Seeing as Corgan music these days either sounds like a pale retread of that sort of Siamese Dream-esque formula or just pop/adult contemporary shit in general, in an ideal world, it'd be cool if Jimmy rejoined proper, but instead of trying to assimilate into that arena rock sound again, actually drove the direction of the band into a sort of jazz-rock fusion combining Chamberlin's sensibilities with elements that sort of psyche/shoegaze/hard rock influence of the Pumpkins. I feel like the only thing that would really make me interested in Corgan's output again is if he tried something innovative and artistic, like when he changed gears for Adore, instead of just spinning his wheels trying to do boring pop rock in a sad attempt to "get back into the mainstream" or whatever.

Then again, in an "ideal world," Corgan wouldn't have become shit in the first place, and the band probably wouldn't have ended and been restarted with, like, just Billy and a rotating cast of randoms that would at one point include Tommy Lee. But, in the next most ideal world, the above would be the case.

"Corgan and Chamberlin haven't made any plans together beyond the 24-date tour, set to end Aug. 9 in Nashville. "That's the only way it works for me," Chamberlin says. "I've got a commitment to LiveOne; that remains my priority right now."
