Are these gigs just Billy Corgan and Friends (Billy, Jimmy and stand ins)? or is it a full blown Smashing Pumpkins with Iha and Wretzky?

i'll be flying down from bris or gold coast to adelaide, all of which are $100+ for times that i will travel.*

* i will not travel between 11pm-10am

Oh did they? I always got the impression Billy loves going down under. Billy went there with TFE as well.

And Brisbane apparently...
One of our members over at Ozphoria just posted that he'd asked Billy about the prospect of side shows and he confirmed Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

Click here for the full story.

Basically, the Hordern Pavilion was mentioned by Gooch and the story checks out - the Hordern is free on both the Thursday 27th and Friday 28th March for shows.

So... now we sit back and wait. Venues have been contacted to see if any more info can be uncovered.

I doubt it will happen but if they announce a show at the Hordern for the Thursday and it sells out relatively fast and they play again on Friday I will be so happy, the day after V-fest I'm going to Japan for a year for Uni and spending my last 3 nights at pumpkins concerts would be one hell of a high to leave on.

I think you may be mistaken and misread what I had posted.
I was stating that the Hordern is available both of those nights - meaning that the band could play either the Thursday or the Friday, whichever is more well-suited to their needs.
Back to back shows were not mentioned at all. You'd be hard-pressed to find a band willing to do consecutive shows in the same city and same venue.

Again, we'll have to wait and see whether side shows are announced or whether it's just a very well-constructed rumour.

Just received confirmation from the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney - one of the rumoured venues for the Sydney side show - they were able to tell me that the Pumpkins won't be playing at the Hordern.

This at least gives the Enmore Theatre rumour a bit more credibility...

Nine Inch Nails played 3 nights in a row in Sydney (although 3rd show was cancelled and rescheduled due to illness), many other bands such as Muse, Arcade Fire, have played 2 consecutive shows at the same venue in Sydney while also being here as a part of a festival, thus playing 3 shows in the same city, some on consecutive days.
It is by no means unheard of.

It was 3 nights in Melb same venue as well. Loads of bands to this, Pearl Jam always play three shows at the same venue in Melb.

still funny

will be interesting to see the ticket sales for the Melb sideshow. What do you guys think? I can't see it even close to a sell-out, not at that price, but who knows
