tsp2000-05-08 - Orlando full show?
There is a partial recording floating around for this show but splra lists that there was also a full MD recording for the show and the text file on the partial show seems to indicate that the full show does exist. How do we know there is a complete source for this show? I'm assuming we've had no luck in tracking this down.. And, does anyone want to fill me in on why the Once in a Lifetime is so good for this show.
Text file for partial recording: Smashing Pumpkins May 8th, 2000 Hard Rock Live Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. OKM-IIr>M1>DAT-1(48k)>Fostex D5(Optical)>m-audio DiO 2496>CDWave>FLAC Source: AUD #1 - more complete second source circulates 01. Intro Music/Glass And The Ghost Children - 14:05 02. I Of The Mourning - 6:14 03. This Time - 4:48 04. The Everlasting Gaze - 3:32 05. Heavy Metal Machine (cut) - 4:58 There is a complete MD source for this show that I highly suggest everybody track down, as it contains possibly the most hysterical Once In A Lifetime ever played. --- DO NOT SELL DO NOT CONVERT TO MP3 ASIDE FROM PERSONAL USE DO NOT REMIX, REMASTER, ETC WITHOUT PERMISSION ENJOY THE MUSIC! --- Ben Valocchi (rhinowing) and Matt Krueger (Punkishlyevil) VERY large thank yous go to Reece Donovan and Kevin Davis Ticket stub graciously provided by Brian Barbour brought to you in association with the SPLRA (splra.org) |

it was on Ziggy's list and a few other people's. I also had it in MP3. It sounded about the same as the DAT source iirc

Do you still have it in mp3? What's the Once in a Lifetime like?
Does Ziggy not trade anymore or something? |

you might ask yourself just what the fuck is in orlando you might ask yourself is this where the oranges grow you might ask yourself who's that fucking guy on stage you might ask yourself what does he know about me and my life letting the days go by water flowing underground into the blue again water flowing underground you might ask yourself what does this mean if it has no meaning you might ask yourself what do i feel if i have no feelings you might ask yourself when was the last time i cried any real tears at all you might ask yourself is the this the end or just the beginngin of the fall letting the days go by water flowing underground into the blue again water flowing underground whoa though what the fuck step right inside what the fuck is going on why what the fuck i just wanted to say wait, wait i can still smell britney she's still here somewhere and christina, she's here i can smell her and the backstreet boys, they're here somewhere and n'sync, they're here too i can feel them i can feel them now, listen it's not their fault that music sucks so bad actually i blame generation x bands actually (crowd starts chanting "bullshit") we're to blame for things being so bad we take all the blame actually i'll take all the blame me, bill corgan i'll take up the blame i think it's my fault that things are the way they are right now (crowd stops chanting) and if our music hadn't been so depressing, who knows what could've happened james: yeah, you got a good point there man am i original am i sexual billy: now usually usually we get to this part in the song, the band does a dramatic i'm letting you look behind our magic kingdom here, i swear usually the band does like a dramatic stop and then everything gets very awkward like it is right now and um, yes and um, and usually um, i have to think of something clever to say right now but um, sometime we chant as a unit you know all of us collectively and it makes us all feel better although we're all completely hopeless yes um, yes so um, of course i brought this song to a screeching halt and i know no way to get back out of it so um, drum solo? jimmy doesn't believe in drums solos he believes in flying solo he believes in han solo i know he's your favorite, han solo is your favorite in star war uh, you can help, james is very good yodeller, he could yodel i know i know and also, you may not know this, he has a very uh, naturally deep voice, he's planning an aria with that really annoying fourteen year old that sings opera for on those commercials him and andrea bocelli and that annoying girl are gonna do an opera james: gratzi sossimus sine genitum billy: melissa could talk about canada melissa: we are far from canada, aren't we florida you know it's all hot and sweaty and dirty here, it's very pure and cold in the north but i know that i'll probably retire here so i'll see you then, but now i must continue to rock billy: so uh, i quite frankly don't know how to get out of this awkward moment, so like uh, we were playing one concert a couple weeks ago and we were live on the radio, and uh the radio station had asked me not to swear, so then we all chanted what the fuck is going on together (crowd starts chanting "what the fuck") everybody seemed to like that it made everyone feel better but see you've probably already read about everything we've already done on this tour on the internet so you're not surprised at all with anything we can do so, that's it, i'll close that it's actually what the fuck is going on, it has more rhythm, you'll see (crowd starts chanting "what the fuck is going on") what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on what the fuck is going on woah *scream* *scream* *scream* that was alright that wasn't bad james, would you like some more awkward moments? you want more awkward moments? *band goes into "we love you"* |

According to my old bootlist I have a copy of MD source and I have it noted as being 130 minutes long so one would think that is the complete source. Now as to where I have that CD that is anyones guess... It most likely came from ziggy I did alot of trading with him back in the day. He was my source for some of my rarer shows if you will.

I have the MD source. I can upload it in a few weeks when I visit home if the Resident Hoarder doesn't get around to it.
Oh, and I was at this show... Once in a Lifetime was as amazing as it sounds. And that transcript didn't even ******* the part where Billy stops "Blank Page" halfway through to read a "letter from a fan"... |

No problem. But I'm willing to bet Andrew has a better copy than me. I seem to recall there was some problem with this show... like all the CDR copies had a skip on them? I'll check it out when I'm home (end of next week).
