for some reason these two .shn files i have are corrupted (Foobar won't play or convert them)
i've re-downloaded them from the HUB, but

same problem...

D1 T06 Stray Cat Blues [Rolling Stones] (live 90)
D4 T13 Geek U.S.A. (live 93)

can someone upload a lossless version?

(not the 13 version)

I just tried and had the same problem with these two in foobar, though they play fine in winamp and test and decode fine in TLH

You could use the official SHN program to decompress it, and recompress it again.

If that works, no loss should derive. I don't think that Foobar not playing them means they are corrupt. If etree.org's program decompresses it correctly, it's probably something wrong at Foobar's end.

using dbpoweramp and converting
SHN > Wave > FLAC the file is OK in foobar
but SHN > WAVE > SHN i'm still a no go
& SHN > FLAC > SHN (same problem)

mkw audio compression tool decodes them perfectly - they play fine in foobar.

I agree, FLACs are much better than SHNs IMO, the only problem being how FLACS discard original WAV metadata.

i've got Flac files now (converted with DBpoweramp)
so no need for an upload

but i'm still confused as to why the shn files don't work in foobar...

FB, if you convert your flac files to shn, do they work in foobar?
