I don't know that I'd say John was a piece of shit. He just had anger issues stemming from his childhood and he unfortunately took it out on other people at times. There's also long been the rumor that he was in the closet and I think that could have been a contributing factor.

Daryl Hall neglecting a son he had with a groupie and John Lennon's behavior, as well as a lot of Billy's behavior, and a lot of other asshole rock stars' behavior seems to stem from a super low self esteem, which they spend so much tie and energy trying to compensate for that they end up neglecting people they have obligations to. It looks a lot like narcissism, but more likely they're being overly defensive, to the point to seeming offensive.

The thing that bugs me about Daryl Hall, though, is that he seems to act like it was totally not his fault he knocked up a groupie, and it's not a one time failing, he seems to have maintained that illogical and indefensible stance consistently for decades. Also, Liam Gallagher, has a love child and the mother is having to fight him in court for child support.

NO DOUBT... Man, their downfall was brutal. I was in love with Gwen Stefani as a kid. My first concert was No Doubt and Goldfinger in 1996 at a small theater with my cousin, mom and aunt, it was awesome. I then saw them live in a arena the following year with WEEZER opening on their Pinkerton run! (I had always liked their singles but became a legit =w= fan after the show)

I agree. With Eric Stefani they were Alternative icons -without him, they're forgettable pop sell-outs with as much edge as Duran Duran. Gwen's transformation from cool human to weird-ass robotic Stepford Wife causes me physical pain.
