one thing we can agree on. and even though it's an EP track, for me Machina 2 has always started with that song.

Just a little disappointed to see James and Jimmy getting down with the $295 holiday packages... I'd expect it from Billy, his holiday sales are pretty regular

Well it is signed by 3/4ths of the original lineup.

Those autographs together before would fetch a nice price. I guess they're gonna be devalued now though.

shiny neither a promising start, nor a good closer
Soothe is one of the most underrated SP songs of all time. Not only is it an excellent album opener for Pisces, but it instantly brings me back to the first time I heard that album back in the 90s. Classic Pumpkins music is so good at that... evoking emotion that draws strength from some sort of undefinable, nostalgic timelessness. Soothe, in particular, really showed that Billy could do a whole lot with very little... the antithesis of "overproduced."

I see that $225 autograph poster is completely sold out. Looks like Clay has been spending his crowdfunding money again.

Machina 2 imo is that whole damn package. Best version of saturnine imo.

If bcc hadn’t fucked so much with the songs for the sake of making them weird I really think machina could have been their best album.

I can't imagine spending hundreds of dollars on a $30 item just because somebody applied their name in ink to it, regardless of how much I admire or respect that person. I can't think of anybody whose autograph I'd pay $225 for. Like, Jesus could fucking rise from the dead, tell me that he could sign my Bible for only $225, and I'd still be like "nah, I'm good."

How much do you actually have to worship somebody to spend that? I've even felt peeved by comic-book artists who have charged $5 for an autograph, because most do it for free. And I probably wouldn't have bothered if it was any more than $5.

A lot of musicians sell signed merch, and price it at several hundred dollars. For example Bon Jovi has a signed canvas for $400 https://www.bonjoviofficialmerch.com...d-canvas-print . Ace Frehley sells a signed guitar strap for $300 https://squareup.com/market/ace-freh...by-ace-frehley If you could sign something and make an easy $300, you would, you know you would. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I think it depends.

The only time something like that is cool is if it's from a legendary era... Say a Siamese Dream vinyl signed by all 4 original members at the time, something like that I'd probably pay up to 300-400 dollars for. I'm sure it would fetch much more than that with serious collectors.

But to charge that much for a current era signed piece is kinda ridiculous. If you wanted to you could probably just wait around the venue early before a show and get em to sign it for free.

When I saw Our Lady Peace I got a nice big cardboard poster signed by the entire band in silver ink for 20 dollars... Not comparing them to SP, but it's cool that they charge a reasonable price for the fans.

I once wanted to buy "the old man and the sea" in an antiquarian bookstore with an inscription by Hemingway. it cost a fortune, I thought it would make a great gift for my mom. the antiquarian talked me out of it, thankfully. I have never paid for an autograph and never will. I cherish the LPs I got signed in person, because it's a nice memory. If I would buy a massproduced signed whatever, I don't get that memory.

I once interviewed a biggish (but fading) British indie band for their new album. The record company had hired a house in London to be the band's base of operations for the day, doing interviews and filming an acoustic session for a website etc.

When I got there one of the bands 7-year-old son was sat in the corner signing posters.

This is why buying signed band stuff is a bit risky.

This album has NOT grown on me.

Now I don't even want to listen to it again.

I feel embarrassed to put any songs on in front of friends or girlfriend.

Then I put on a few songs from MCIS today.. and like holy fuck.. good music.. good lyrics..

God damn Shiny and Jizz fucking sucks.. piece of shit album.

I am thankful for the appreciation it got, simply because all the "is this the best sp2 output" ranking games made me revisit entire old albums. I mostly listened to live recs, alt takes and demos the past 15 years and never full albums, so this is surprisingly pleasant. Yesterday was TAFH day, today is Adore day, and it is glorious.

I'm proud too about a personal signed autograph by the great Otto Waalkes. But I didn't let myself go by it...
