One thing I like about the original Wonder Woman comics is that Themyscira isn't depicted as some anachronistic island where everybody is stuck in Ancient Greece. It seems logical that, just as the outside world developed new technologies in the thousands of years since antiquity, so would the Amazons. But the development of technology would diverge from the outside world's because of the separation causing parallel lines of advancement. Paradise Island was scientifically advanced in the old comics. People still dressed ancient-like and the architecture was still ancient-like, but they created a lot of devices and shit.

Since then, it's kinda just been "Themyscira has an ancient culture and hasn't changed in those thousands of years" in the comics. Grant Morrison kinda went back to the more sci-fi Themyscira for his alternate-universe take, though.

I guess this is just a minor thing, but I always thought it would be cool if there was a variety of body types on Themyscira, instead of everybody having similar slender builds. I mean, everybody would be fit and athletic, but bodies trained for different strengths look different. Some Amazons would look like they are built for powerlifting. Others, for gymnastics. Others yet, for sprinting or long-jumping.

I guess I did like how they didn't go the Sucker Punch route and make the Amazons just a bunch of hot chicks who primarily serve to be titillating while being passed off as "empowering." I mean, it's still a Hollywood movie, so everybody there was of above-average attractiveness, but they weren't dolled-up tarts, either. There were older women, women without the most traditionally feminine of faces, etc.

And so began the War of Words that destroyed Netphoria. Each side erected walls of texts for their own defense, but it was ultimately their undoing, as the text grew so large that all the server space was eaten up, and the forum collapsed.

Well, they lost the directors of the Fucking Lego Movie, so there's really nowhere to go but up.

The fuck?

Also, when they are training with swords... real swords... isn't there the very real possibility that one could kill the other? Seems like training should be non-lethal preparation for lethal predicaments. Unless they were holding back and weren't trying very hard to kill each other. In which case, what was the purpose of training if they were doing it half-assed? That's not much of preparation for... anything.

Swords are weird in this movie in general. I could swear that when the Germans were storming Themyscira, they clearly showed the Amazons attacking them with swords, but nobody ever got cut. Swords are just blunt batons in this universe, unless you're made of CGI. I understand that this is a PG-13 movie and I don't expect to see entrails and decapitated heads, but you'd think if they wanted to keep blood to a minimum while still doing sword stuff, they'd just pull the camera away every time somebody was slashed or stabbed. No, they still show it, but people just fall down for some reason.

Also, Angryman vs. Sadman: Yawn of Justice seemed to imply that Wonder Woman had given up on humanity. The beginning of Wonder Woman seemed to imply the same. This would explain why nobody's heard of her since WWI and she didn't show up when aliens destroyed a city.

But the film doesn't end with her being like "so after that, I gave up on humanity and went home and watched Netflix. Got a call saying that there's now a SECOND world war, can you fucking believe these guys? Told the dude IDGF I live on a magic island." It ends with her being all "I will continue to be a superhero and fight for my ideals etc." So, uh, how does that fit.
Uhh, what the hell are you talking about with the accents? No

I do also wonder Wtf Dina a has been up to since WWI

Lego movie was funny, entertaining, and visually impressive, plus a huge critical and financial success

I haven't seen them but the jump street films were well reviewed as well

This is why they were fired:

Black Jesus B+

Just watched the first five episodes. There are times when the dialogue is a little clunky but usual its fine and there are times when its brilliant. Great characters. If any of you liked the Boondocks you should check this out.

I get that people enjoyed it, but I fucking hated every last minute of it. It felt like 90 minutes of listening to some over-caffeinated kid go apeshit inside of a grocery store.

I liked a lot of the Lego videogames. Star Wars OG Trilogy and the first two Lego Batmen were legit.

I don't understand the need for a lego of everything, and this is coming from someone who played the living shit out of legos talkin I had the pirate ships, and the ice world rovers, and of course a regular city (modeled after Onette from Earthbound, actually)

But I did like the lego movie, it was pretty intense

when i was a kid one of my proudest achievements for a long number of years was successfully constructing a yellow tractor out of lego, according to a diagram that came in the box of course.

i was doomed to loserdom before i even started, really.
