One thing I like about the original Wonder Woman comics is that Themyscira isn't depicted as some anachronistic island where everybody is stuck in Ancient Greece. It seems logical that, just as the outside world developed new technologies in the thousands of years since antiquity, so would the Amazons. But the development of technology would diverge from the outside world's because of the separation causing parallel lines of advancement. Paradise Island was scientifically advanced in the old comics. People still dressed ancient-like and the architecture was still ancient-like, but they created a lot of devices and shit.
Since then, it's kinda just been "Themyscira has an ancient culture and hasn't changed in those thousands of years" in the comics. Grant Morrison kinda went back to the more sci-fi Themyscira for his alternate-universe take, though. I guess this is just a minor thing, but I always thought it would be cool if there was a variety of body types on Themyscira, instead of everybody having similar slender builds. I mean, everybody would be fit and athletic, but bodies trained for different strengths look different. Some Amazons would look like they are built for powerlifting. Others, for gymnastics. Others yet, for sprinting or long-jumping. I guess I did like how they didn't go the Sucker Punch route and make the Amazons just a bunch of hot chicks who primarily serve to be titillating while being passed off as "empowering." I mean, it's still a Hollywood movie, so everybody there was of above-average attractiveness, but they weren't dolled-up tarts, either. There were older women, women without the most traditionally feminine of faces, etc. |

And so began the War of Words that destroyed Netphoria. Each side erected walls of texts for their own defense, but it was ultimately their undoing, as the text grew so large that all the server space was eaten up, and the forum collapsed.

Well, they lost the directors of the Fucking Lego Movie, so there's really nowhere to go but up.

Black Jesus B+
Just watched the first five episodes. There are times when the dialogue is a little clunky but usual its fine and there are times when its brilliant. Great characters. If any of you liked the Boondocks you should check this out. |

I liked a lot of the Lego videogames. Star Wars OG Trilogy and the first two Lego Batmen were legit.

I don't understand the need for a lego of everything, and this is coming from someone who played the living shit out of legos talkin I had the pirate ships, and the ice world rovers, and of course a regular city (modeled after Onette from Earthbound, actually)
But I did like the lego movie, it was pretty intense |

when i was a kid one of my proudest achievements for a long number of years was successfully constructing a yellow tractor out of lego, according to a diagram that came in the box of course.
i was doomed to loserdom before i even started, really. |
