obama's election would mean that he would bridge a gap between the black community and u.s. politics. jesse jackson has traditionally gotten rich by playing that middle man role, but he knows he's out of a job if obama gets a elected, thats why he hates him. he's a dinosaur growing in irrelevance, this whole gaffe is indicative of that.

jesse jackson can't play the race/victim card if obama gets elected. he cannot fill the poor people in chicago's slums head's with garbage that they are victims who need help from others to survive. jackson never deals with the reality that education should matter more at home and that black teens shouldn't be birthing children at such a crazy rate. i guess though as a man who has illegitimate kids of his own he couldn't get on board with responsible parenting.

he may have been great way back when, but he's turned into quite a loser. he doesn't empower people. it must have hurt jesse's feelings that his comments came and went and in the end no one cared.

The fact that he is the nominee for President, and has a great shot at BECOMING President actually has done a lot for blacks. Kids who see this happening accept it as the norm unless their parents suck; we no longer live in an age where a black guy can't have a serious shot at the White House.
