The same thing has happened to me, and while I am depressed, I'm not as depressed as I used to be, so can't chalk it up as that. I care about stuff a lot less in general to be honest. Probably because nothing matters and we're all dead men walking anyways.

is it really a big deal that nothing matters, isn't it liberating? i just don't want to suffer, and ultimately i suffer because stuff matters to me so ultimately stuff does matter and it makes you miserable hooray

i mostly listen to music in my car

one thing that has been lost is song titles - unless i love the band, i don't know the song titles of what i'm listening to

Hmmm, that's interesting. If I'm listening to music on vinyl, I'm more likely to pay attention to stuff like song titles, etc. But I guess I can see how someone wouldn't.

I think I'm just at a point, mainly with new music, where if I like what I downloaded, I'll back it up then put it in rotation and that'll be that. I hardly think about the band as individuals.

Unless I think they'd be good live, then I'll check 'em out further to see if I can catch a show.

the car i'm currently driving has a cool little audio system thing where it'll show the titles & whatnot on the dashboard, so i can actually be a little closer to actually knowin titles for new songs - moreso than when i was just burnin to cd-r without so much as a printed tracklisting & going by essentially the "rat in the cage" method

i'm depressed too.

so i smoke lots of weed and listen to music. it's great. there are advantages to be discovered in everything. this was made known to me by an erudite shaman.
