The Dream Machine
As far as I remember people loved this tune back in 2012.
Nobody talks about it anymore tho. Is it really a good song? |

No one liked it in 2012. I saw them play it at Barclays. it's a nothing of a song. I remember at the time it vaguely reminded me of Hummer? whatever it sucks

I never heard it before. It rocks. However, Billy's vocals add nothing to the melody. He's like the opposite of prime Kurt Cobain. There are so many songs in recent years which seem to be just riffage and Billy's whisper-whine needlessly inserted over the top of it. It's basically an instrumental. A good instrumental.

Billy can write some incredibly heavy riffs. Billy can also cobble together a "song"that sounds like a bunch of drop-D riffs a 15 year old made up on guitar after learning that tuning. This song and "Superchrist" fall in the latter category.

Just listened to the version from the live Oceania CD. A song really sucks when Mike Byrne's drum part is the most interesting thing it has going for it...

It's nothing spectacular, but if this sort of stuff is what we had gotten instead of Monument to an Enema, it would've been preferable.

Otherwise known as "that other heavy song he touted out that wasn't on an album and wasn't As Rome Burns."

I liked it in 2012, but listening to it now, it sounds bloated and uninspired.
