agreed, that's what it's missing to elevate it to MCIS status

Digging this more as I listen to it. Wish they'd played it during their KROQ acoustic set, could be done cool stripped down.

That and Bill’s vocals mixed too high.

This song is just like a clinger in the ear. There's nothing special about it musically.
The trippy guitar noises in the back saved it from being boring monotone.

If you look at the lyrics, you can see this song is about D'arcy.

Stunning and stunning with (butt) canons to lead

Then there's the bit about being a turncoat. And diving like a pelican, which I can confirm is something D'arcy likes to do while swimming in the lakes of Michigan.

Billy also probably used to call D’arcy a bird, like the guys on Always Sunny do to Sweet Dee.

This song has a melody. "Solara" did not.

it's great. there's really nothing to complain about here. Billy's vox melody is surprising and fresh. more, it actually evokes feelings in me. like some kind of 14 year old kid. you remember feelings, right?

That iha guitar line in the verses makes this song. It’s the difference between it and all the other SP tracks.

Corgan said on his Q+A that Jeff is responsible for the leads.

It makes sense, the leads on the verse actually sound like what Jeff plays during the chorus of 1979 on the new tour.

I wouldnt trust Bill. Guitar sounds like Speed of Love.

But yeah, just as likely James has never been near these tracks. Cashgrab recycling etc.

Lol james jeff jeff james- none of them played.
I bet that billy played all guutars and maybe bass too.
We know that james didn't play 50 % on any album. Billy 90% or more. Drums is jimmy- if not a drum loop.

And james played on processional- wow great- he playedthe one note keyboard? Or some guitar at the end which noone could hear.

Ego bolly can do evthg better than any other bandmember.
And as we heard from ig. Bill played 97% bass on any album. James played 3% (some machina songs). Darcy couldplahold a beat- so billy did it.

I'm convinced James is responsible for elevating this song above dull monotony like almost everything else Billy has touched in the last decade. Here's hoping the other 6 songs aren't just outtakes from the Tommy Lee album like Solara

"Silvery Sometimes" hasn't entered any Billboard charts in the week of September 22, the first week after it's release.
https://www.billboard.com/charts

Just a delay of the statistics?

The song seems to be more accepted than "Solara", but got less promotion for getting known...

The guitar in the chorus reminds me of Stand Inside Your Love. The song is recycled Pumpkins.

Well Billboard is likely 100% payola dominated. So I wouldn't expect the song to chart.
