Default Do you honor the Machina II LP track list and order?

When I first downloaded this years ago, I got all of the files from archive.org. None of them were organized according to LP or EP and I just moved them around in an iTunes playlist in the order that seemed most flowable. Over the years I deleted some of them and had them all in a "Machina II" folder.

Now I go to re-download and the original LP sequencing I think is really good and surprises me. I was just wondering if people listened to the LP as an LP (without adding Slow Dawn or Vanity, etc.) or whether everyone here just listens to self-made Frankenstein Machinas rather than the original. I assume that many assume that the LP track list/order is arbitrary...
Also, do you consider the EP tracks as EPs or just as unorganized LP material?

Question

Could someone at Corgan's next Q&A on Instagram post a link to this thread and ask him, when he finally gets the reissue done for it to come out...?

i listen to the EPs occasionally, but when i think of Machina II i specifically think of the LP—& i don't find it arbitrary, it's a pretty good song order

I used to, but these days I have my own combined MI and MII playlist. The more I listen to various live performances and with Billiam basically confirming much of what's on there is demo-quality material, I feel way less inclined to listen to it on its own more than very occasionally and out of nostalgia.

and i say that as a fan of the song

both have elements i love but i'm still kinda a sucker for the M1 version
the drum sound of MII's, for instance, i prefer. but i like the general structure & lyrics of MI's more

weeeooo weeeooooo

Can't stand the MII version.

Also the version of HMM on MII sounds like some weird unfinished drum machine experiment, Deux Machina's basically a synth outtake, Atom Bomb exists in a better form on the Try single. In My Body live had this guitar arpeggio that wasn't present on MII, Real Love and White Spyder are all ear-rapey, etc. The more I listen to it nowadays the more of a loose collection of works-in-progress it feels. Part of the charm though of course.

I honestly find there are fewer songs that sound really fleshed out, like Lucky 13 or Dross.

I have LP 1, 2, 3 in order as Disc 1, then LP4 as Disc 2 in iTunes

I have MCIS as the vinyl order

I don't really think of M2 as an album really, kinda just a wonky collection of weird tracks from the era. Sort of like a less refined PI

I don't really listen to any albums start to finish anymore, just on shuffle, or select songs in a bigger playlist.

but I think of cr04 as being the album and correct tracklist running order.

i might be interested in hearing what 2001 or 2002 WPC had to say on this
i have no interest in hearing the WPC 2019 Mix, either the order or the remastering

For me the album starts with Slow Dawn and always will. I won't honor any diff tracklist Corgo puts together on the reissue.

Sounds like that kind of thing would just turn out to be some self-important bullshit.

Honestly, a waste of my time.

Yeah imo slow dawns the best opener. It’s emblematic of the gauzy hiss, the muddy chug of mii

so for you Slow Dawn people, are you saying you consider the order CR01, CR02, CR03, CR04, or just that you pretend CR04 begins with Slow Dawn?

So your version of the LP is to put the EPs in front?

I guess another thing to note would be the EP's having a bit looser mixing/post-production compared to the LP

The LP may get pretty lo-fi but it usually sounds intentional, with the EP's it sounds more like leaked recordings or something that we weren't quite supposed to hear, except this time it was the band doing the leaking (took to thread, etc etc) - aka the kind of thing the band would probably greatly benefit from doing now
