The thought of moving is sometimes worse than the actual event itself (unless like D you have 1000+ books - I once had to move these up/then down a 4 story apartment with no lift)

I have to move in 2 months and I'm dreading it. Putting my whole life in storage before I travel across the US for a few months, then coming back to Scotland to move to the islands in the North

Will you pay the movers to pack? If you have a house full of stuff I reckon you're better off getting someone else to do it. Especially if you're putting stuff in storage as well. You can do all three through the same company, swipe your card and forget about it. Go enjoy an espresso somewhere.

i work in the chicago 'burbs near where my parents live. so i'm there summer weekdays, chicago summer weekends (and whenever i'm not working pretty much) and then DC for the school year. but i fly to chicago pretty frequently during the school year too. 11 more months and it will all be over.
