to be fair, nicole did some very nice bass work on oceania...

nicole does have some great basslines on the record, but i cant quite shake the feeling she just jams parts out based on ease of play. um, im not sure how it explain it. like shes not thinking of melody necessarily, just 'writing parts'. her original bassline to lonely is the name was weird and struck me as just being born out of her sliding around on the fretboard, whereas if you watch jeff in the same video writing his part, hes hashing out a melody.

anyway, oceania has a really great bass part. panopticon has a good part. lightning strikes has a really good bassline but that isnt on the record now, is it.

it's hard for me to say anything bad about nicole's bass lines - considering d'arcy's were just kind of nothing. i definitely like what nicole is doing
