SICK

I luv krautrock

I actually find this particular kind of psych to be really vital and engaging

Something to do with the fixation on rhythm and repetition

So good. Not sure why it took me so long to get into Nat King Cole. Picked this up from the bargain bin for a cool 50 pence

Was listening to the Nuggets Original Artyfacts box set, one of the songs was called "The Shape of Things to Come" which reminded me of that Ornette Coleman album, so I listened to The Shape of Jazz to Come and Free Jazz, two of the most accurately titled albums I've ever heard.

The guitar tones on "In the Fade" alone (if you're into that sort of thing) justify buying at least 5 copies of that shit

Still need to clean and spin my brand new rated x vinyl; hope its not one of the shittily-pressed ones

Holy f shad I envy your position, starting thru the qotsa discography for the 1st time. You're in for a lot of layers and creative arrangements and hooks and monolithic riffs and some of the best sounding drums and drumbeats in all of hard guitar music

Maybe we should meet in the live qotsa appreciation thread and we can stroke off about it in peace over there

Rated R to me is the definitive QOTSA album. I raise an eyebrow to anyone who argues otherwise.

No shit. I'm really liking what I'm hearing so far. Like Clockwork's something special too.

I'm a CD guy for the most part, fucking hate when shit like that happens. I was really excited to have MCIS in LP format until the reissue came out and screwed the pooch in every single way possible.

Yeah I heard those early press of the reissue were a nightmare; can confirm tho (for any reading/wondering) that the more recent pressings are fixed and problem-free, at least was when I purchased in Jan 2016 or so

Would really like to listen on a table where there's eq and a sub, tho, b/c the way they mixed the bass on this dustworn relic of '95 just swallows everything sometimes on my setups
