Star in the making?

He had some hype coming into this season, but, 6 goals in 3 games for a 19 year old will open up some eyes around the league.

As well as this move, an entry for Goal of the Year:

yo j...sup...Kid got another one the other night. League leading 7 goals.

Big Joe was hilarious though last week sticking up for Hertl.

.........................

Joe Thornton would unzip his pants if he scored four goals

Quote:
Hearing a question to Marleau about Hertl and whether he was showboating, Thornton said:

“Shut up, have you ever played the game?”

When the press turned his way, he then added:

“I’d have my cock out if I scored four goals. I’d have my cock out, stroking it.”

that guy is so awesome, really unfortunate to see that. hope his recovery goes well and he's back better than ever by next year

Thanks LBBM. I'm surprised at how bad I felt just watching him writhe around on the ice and not just because of what it means for my Bolts. I guess it's only natural to get a bit attached to these dudes and Stamkos is definitely one of the most liked and well respected good guys in the league.

As much as it sucks, the Lightning were playing good team hockey before he went down and have been playing the same since. If we can manage to float along and keep ourselves in a playoff position we'll get a helluva boost when he comes back.

As for the Bs, glad we only play you guys once more this year. We have played lights out hockey against everyone else but Boston has our kryptonite.

i dunno wtf is going on with the pens. haven't caught too many games lately. but they could lose the division lead to the caps tonight. ick.

would rather have a mediocre regular season and a good playoff though so hey

they left off Joe Thornton but took Patrick Marleau...I'm wondering if the North American squads are over-emphasizing speed for the big ice.

I don't know what the fuck the Canadians were thinking leaving Marty St. Louis off the roster. Dude is instant chemistry with anyone- let alone other stars. Look how he's pushed Johnson and Palat on the Lightning's first line and is piling up the points even without Stamkos. How many big, clutch goals has Rick Nash scored in his career? I hope the Canadians crash and burn even with Stamkos on the roster.

Honestly, any non-boxing/MMA sport would be up in arms over one single punch. It'd be insanity if a man punched another man in the face on the football field or tennis court. But in hockey it's like "Let 'em fight it out... fight it out... waiiiit... okay, break it up boys." 5 minutes later, back in the game.

Something should be happening soon with it though, but it'd have to be standardized across all leagues, which could be tough. I thought I heard the proposal the NHL could say any time you initiate a fight you get suspended for 3 games and a fine or something like that.

yeah it's about time for this league to grow up

i wish i could compare it to a fight in the NBA, but the last one was when Ron Artest tried to fight the City of Detroit, and that was a completely different level

Time to crank it up again, boys. BTW the Marty St. Louis remours to NYR for an unsigned Ryan Callahan looking for a huge extension are complete hockum.
